I’ve haven’t seen many diverse opinions on our chiropteran friends, but I’d love to know yours! Which Master of the Bazaar do you prefer, and why?
I personally favor Mr. Apples/Mr. Hearts! He (she? they?? it???) seems the most friendly of them all so far, and though I’m definitely not far into the game, from what I’ve read about him he seems like a rather interesting fellow!
I must say that as a Vake hunter and a hopeless romantic, I favor Wines. But I also quite like Hearts! And I don’t only say that because he gave me more toys to play with in my monster-breeding endeavors.
And Pages may be a jerk to certain famous writers, but I can’t help but love the dirty old spacebat’s endless making up of words.
Teenage me would be giddy about Mr Irons - brooding loner circumspect with their words, duel wielding swords and pens? Yes, please.
Present me is fonder of Mr Pages, however. Why speak in one word what you can expresses in seven? Brevity maybe the soul of wit, but the witty without style isn’t.
I’m not fond of Mr Spices and I don’t think I’ve dealt with Mr Veils in any capacity.
But to add to this thread, since I am a revolutionary I hate most of them(bloody selfish ba_____s), Hearts is different though, better than most humans, even, and he may even hate the Bazaar, and that’s a bonus to me.
Iron clearly doesn’t like the Bazaar as well, but he is still clearly using his power and still hates everyone because…he doesn’t like the city, I guess.
How can one not fall in love with the delicious word-play of Mr. Pages? He’s like Shakespeare, except more inventive in word creation … perhaps too inventive … but I can forgive that.
Mr Iron is my character’s Master of choice. It may be a sinister and bloodthirsty individual who runs a blood sport that turns friend against friend, but at least it is openly so, and its distrust of the Bazaar and its schemes aligns nicely with the Sailor’s own. All of the rest have done something or other that he finds unforgivable, or at least distasteful.
While I do like both Pages and Wines, Mr. Fires is my favourite. It’s the only one that actually cares about staying in the city… and that hypnotic purring voice certainly doesn’t hurt either. It’s also but cunning and ruthless, traits my character admires.
