Acquaintance: the Heptagoat was given by an Advent code, and has no purpose I’m aware of (except perhaps cluing in the player base of its existence).
The only known use for Caprine Authority is for unlocking further actions on the Overgoat card. Level of Caprine Authority does not matter.
So mechanically, there’s exactly zero advantage to having a Heptagoat. That’s what I thought. Thanks!
Question: Is there a way we can buy Sir Frederick Tanah-Chook a beverage of their choice for putting up with all of that nonsense during the election? They are a more stalwart soul than I. edited by WinterIV on 7/27/2017
Still card based, but it’s the best source of plaques: cash in Tomb Favours and up convert the Primordial Shriek. Not a big difference, but better than Thefts of a Particular Character which is the next best option.
Thefts aren’t actually the best non-card source of Correspondence Plaques anyways, as it turns out. Breeding Somnolent Hyaenas through Fungus and Pious Wrath then upconverting the Prayers gives ~2.6 or ~2.7 Plaques per action (depending on the exact luck check chance) compared to the 2.45 from Thefts. Those estimates are also a little low since Hyaenas need 100 Honey each and I didn’t factor in the UB rare success.
So I’m new to the game(with each of my abilities around 70) and had bought the A CHANGE IN SOULS story with fate. But after the purchase my internet brokedown and now I don’t know how to find and start the storyline. Any help?
The soul trade story uses both cards and storylets. I’d suggest checking the basic areas (Watchmaker’s, Spite, Ladybones, Veilgarden, your Lodgings) and if there’s nothing new you’re waiting on a card.
Today’s musings: If I sell my soul to the devils, will their cards stop appearing in my deck already? Is there anything I should do now while I still have a soul that I might not be able to do later? Is this how they make most of their conquests—the tedium of seeing them pop up all the time while I’m waiting for an elusive dream?
Notably, if you want the devil cards to never ever appear again, even if you get your soul back, you need to sell it to them specifically and no one else. There are several soul selling options in the game but only the Quiet Deviless or the Affectionate Devil taking your soul will get rid of them forever.
The Intimate of Devils cards go away once they’ve convinced you to trade away your soul. If you get your soul back from a Bundle of Oddities (roll of exactly 200), the Intimate of Devils quality does not change. The easier option on the “One’s Public” card gives a Bundle of sufficient value to regain your soul.
The first Term Passing carousel has some options which are locked or unlocked based on whether you have your soul.
There’s a repeatable option at the Shuttered Palace which increases Counting the Days and which locks if you’re soulless.
…and, I’m ready to sell my soul but these devils won’t take it! Is the card “a serious offer” the only way? Am I just waiting for that 10% chance that I’ll accidentally let them take it? Is there a more forthright opportunity to conduct business willingly and with full responsibility for the consequences?
