Weekly Fallen London Questions, 25/09/2017
The bulk purchase from Mr. Wines is likely the most efficient as to my knowledge there aren’t any profitable sources of the stuff.
The fastest way to earn romantic notions in London is by grinding honey via unfinished business in veilgarden and upconverting honey into notions. &quotDoing the decent thing&quot provides 50 honey per action; 10 actions there, 1 to convert the 500 honey into 105 notions, and 1 to make the purchase in bulk comes out to 12 actions for 750 greyfields 1879 and 25 spare romantic notions, which could be sold at the Bazaar to purchase 125 more greyfields 1879 for a total of 875. For comparison, directly grinding wine in veilgarden could provide between 200 and 2000 bottles in 10 actions.

The purchase in bulk is definitely quick if you’ve already got the romantic notions, but intentionally grinding notions to trade for wine isn’t especially worthwhile.

If you’re not in a rush, you can use the A Merry Sort of Crime card to grind honey at 100 per action. That should make it quite a bit more efficient.

IIRC the Blemmigan fate story can make your Bohemians card give lots of romantic notions. Though of course that’s something from fate.

Can you stockpile Earnest of Payments and then cash them out after you have chaged profession?

You can’t stockpile them. But you can switch your profession before using them.

That is, you can receive you Earnest of Payment from Time the Healer, switch profession, and then claim your new profession’s rewards. You have all week to change professions until the next visit of TtH.
