Weekly Fallen London Questions, 01/09/2025

Here’s this week’s thread for any Fallen London questions you don’t want to start a whole thread for!

Has there been any word about the implementation of Law Hunting and Forging on discord or another channel I don’t tap?
Especially Hunting seems weirdly placed in terms of the payouts considering it’s a late railway activity. It seems to compare rather poorly to Barristering or Balmoral Woods for example. The version we experienced during Estival was not in line with current game economy, but the current implementation seems not in line with similar activities in the progression.
I have not forged law in its permanent implementation, but I suspect it’s similarly toned down? It’s probably still lucrative for its otherwise elusive payouts and the ability to convert infernal and legal items.

I don’t know if anyones done the full math (factoring in ratket or other more profitable methods of disposing of acquired items than just selling flat at the Bazaar) but “5.5ish with room for improvement” seems pretty standard for its placement?

For comparison, city of tracklayers which is the literal last piece of (repeatable) railway content is 5ish boosted to 6 with ratket

I napkinned it to “less than 5” from the 65 € payout and the fact that 15 actions is kind of the optimal run, that I don’t get fairly regularly (because unlike most other hinterland activities, I don’t 100% most checks while hunting). I did not consider rat market boost, which probably means it’s on par with the other activities, right. I guess it is accurately placed after all.

I could probably figure this out by myself but is there any combination of four board members that makes both the dividends with a workers charter and help with a Parabolan war votes easy enough for an endgame character (230 Persuasive + non Fate equipement)?
Now I’m done grinding a Stuivers safety blanket, I’m back to grinding echoes, so I figured I should add the war payout to my list of weekly stuff.

I have Furnace, September, Widow, Drummer.

With a Workers charter I get 100% success on all weekly votes: removing the Tentacled Entrepreneur, Parabolan War for Cats, and Dividends.

I have the Countess instead of the widow. Saves an action on sending the train to war, but ejecting the Entrepreneur is only 93ish percent for her vote.

Right, got the same lineup. If it works for the cats war, it’s good enough for me. Thanks!
