Having recently reach level two hundred in all of my skills, I am now daunted with the question: "What next?" I already own an overgoat and am halfway to purchasing my second, and I seek to turn my attention to fully understanding the correspondence there after; but what comes after that? As far as I am aware there are no stories dedicated to max levels players and as far as I know I have already done all stories available to me that are not fate locked. What else is left for me in the neath to satiate my hunger for knowledge, power, and narrative?
You can try to own one of everything. All all 4 top Relicker items, 3 goats and a cider included. And a Letter from the Empress.[li]

Dreams stories including ‘What the Thunder Said’(25), playing chess with the boatman ‘The Boatman’s Opponent’(40).
I guess the hardest part of knowing what to suggest is that we don’t know what you’ve already done, and you don’t know what you haven’t encountered.
The obvious suggestion would be that you attempt other Ambition stories, but that would require Fate expenditure to reset your current one (and I’m sure you don’t want to have to reset again to complete your current Ambition as more of it becomes available.)
Vaguely related to this (because we don’t know exactly what Koenig has/hasn’t done), it would be cool if Chatting with the Local Gossip at your Lodgings would also have a section for showing where you are in your existing stories, using the trackers to remind you where to go next.
For example: I began the fate-locked Jack of Smiles stuff a while ago, and I think I need to make a zee voyage next, but I’m not certain - and getting there would be a lot of actions to waste.
Even if it’s a separate section, not ‘chatting with a gossip’ but instead Reviewing Journal Notes or something - it would be a handy way to see which stories you had yet to complete and where to go to continue them. :-)
Kittenpox: check your "The Jack-of-Smiles Case" quality on the Myself tab (under Stories) - it should tell you what to do next! ;)

Thanks - shall do!
do you have all of the possible dwellings? that seems like a worthy goal. Or at least, all of the five-card ones
Cider, perhaps? Ridiculous in advance grinding for a Nomen next year?
Completely devastate your character’s stats by whatever means are expedient, and start over. We need something like SMEN for characters in your position. There is, of course, the Ambition that doesn’t exist, but I’m not sure (obviously) how much content there is there (and I couldn’t tell you if I were).

You should send this as feedback because it’s a really good idea.

I don’t even think they’ve introduced level 3 yet, though I might be wrong. Once you’ve gotten it it seems to go by really fast.
Have you visited the mind of a long dead god? It takes a while to get there but it’s very much worth the trip.
When I hit the point you’re at is where I started exploring the fate locked content. After that I went for goats but it sounds like you’re almost done that. I also started working on collecting rare and expensive things. Impossible Theorm, Fluke Core, Master’s Blood, etc. At the moment I’m working on brewing that cider (right now the main ingredient is Corruscating Souls) while waiting to get a sealed copy of a certain crimson book and enjoying the monthly exceptional story. Being at the very edge of the content boundary, those monthly stories are great.
Cryptobotanical Rosette? PtPT: the Drownies 3? Classic Short Story? Raising quirks of choice to 15? Waxwail Knife, fourth level in a K&C order, the K&C lodgings? Mystic and Devious Raven Advisors? All the Nadir item upgrades? Maxing out the newspaper qualities and Successful Terms as Governor? Adrift on a Sea of Misery?

The Jack of Smiles storyline isn’t fate-locked. There’s one fate-locked alternate perspective partway through and an option to get both endings like with the Wilting Dandy’s storyline.

I have all five card lodgings and all regular lodings, the only ones I am missing are one or two tied to lacre or possibly knife and candle.
I don’t think I would have the endurance for cider at this point, though I have already ground out supplies for 8+ pales of lacre (assuming the price remains consistent)

I am at level 14 of stormy eyed, and I have begun a collection of rare items (Master’s Blood, Fluke Core, etc)
Answering your questions respectively: I am not sure what that is(is it the man eating plant in my basement?), no (how do you get the third level?), yes, yes, not a fan of knife and candle, yes to both ravens (How I wish I could take their stories further!), yes, yes, and yes.
Yes, it’s the plant. As for the Drownies, try the other Heist?
If you’re looking for projects to do, I need data on Seeking Curios Eyeless Skull rates, Unfinished Business averages, and whether or not a certain rare success still exists (storylet based).
I am curious about this other heist… care to elaborate? I am intrigued.
I’m not aware of any other year-round method to raise PtPT: the Drownies. The rare heist card only raises it to level two, though since there’s an alternate success it hasn’t been confirmed for both. You’d have to wait until Hallowmas or next winter; the latter would be better for data-gathering since the rare success on dumping a bucket of snow seems to be rather uncommon.
In any case, nothing else is currently coming to mind. Perhaps find some unusual, or even common, item to grind to a specific number? Do you have the Letter from the Empress?
AhahahahAHAHA. I was there on the IRC when Salaxalans found the cap for the rare success.
cough Anyways, both options cap at 2 and the rare success might actually occur at a 50/50 rate. There is something in Spite that gives Drownies, but that’s capped at one and fate locked. I tried to test dumping buckets in the river to get the cap from that action, but eight buckets failed to show the rare success.
Alright then, that’s one fewer thing to test and the wiki has indeed updated since I last checked. I dumped five buckets myself with no success so it’s certainly rare (and a brand new alt then immediately got it).
