You know, eventually, Hell came to help us. They were a little late, but they helped eventually. Then, at the very last moment, the Masters came to our aid. Again, they could have helped sooner, but at least they did something. But you know who never helped? The Traitor Empress. All She had to do was give a quick little speech about London and how we would get through this, but She did nothing at all! I am in a railway board meeting right now, and heavily considering installing the Fervent Widow instead of the Unyielding Highlander. Sadly her reward is not nearly as flexible as his.
I chose to spend my Service for brass (good for echo-to-scrip conversion), threnodies (rat market arbitrage) and MoDS (mammoth ranching).
Scandal reduction item will be useful for worm-riding. Also got +Mithridacy for Estival coins. Not bad, but non Hearts Desire players probably profited more from this event.
Also there is time-gated Cultural Exchange thing, intriguing.
Heh, told you all we’d come back to that Horticultural prestige yet.
Funnily, I got to accept the “best in show” prize twice over. With… no less than 154 points to spare.
For myself, I never considered any option besides her.
Incidentally, the main reason I brought it up was in case you hadn’t sold the hams for scrip yet. You may yet wish to consider selling them for echoes to convert via the bone market. It’s more work, of course, but at least it doesn’t cut your prize in half.
Went to the Cultural Exchange, gave The Starved Men some wine and then the storylet up and B____y vanished before I could look at the other option locked behind a Quality provided by giving out the wine.
It’s a new weekly activity! Also that new option unlocks at 6 of the new quality. The puzzle-damask gives 3, the wine gives 2, and the extraordinary implication gives 1.
I think tinned ham might actually be the worst scrip option. There are normal items you can buy at the rat market that sell for scrip at less than a 50% loss. Ham is for converting scrip to echoes, not the other way around.
Ham is a perfectly fine way of getting echoes though. If you’ve got ham, sell it for echos and convert the echoes to scrip using any of the normal routes.
