[…] My only headache is that I keep landing on the set of options including the Duchess’ banquet, on which as far as I can tell none of the choices on offer (excluding the princess, of course, but that’s no longer available to me) are particularly attractive, so I spend a lot of energy on rerolling Airs.
If one has a mild tolerance for Nightmares, sneaking up on the Duchess is passably profitable so long as the rare success is at least 9% (2.24 EPA and a bit of Connected). Unfortunately I only have 8 data points, so my 12.5% (2.74 EPA) running estimate isn’t especially conclusive, although "about 10%" feels accurate.
Yeah, that’s the one I’ve settled on as the best one. No rare successes so far, though.
Hi,
I would recommend a Lovers Tryst (silver fountain) when you have gotten the Dreadful Surmises from the Duchess Banquet and reached the cap of the Captivating Princess - at least thats my favoured choice as it gives 5 Epa for granted and refills 2 masking if not yet maxed out to 21.
So getting money is best I can get out of FotR.
I would recommend a Lovers Tryst (silver fountain)
That’s a 0-25 Airs Option unfortunately, as opposed to a 51-75 Airs Option. (Also you can go to "my profile" at the top of the page and edit your signature to include a link to your profile, instead of appending it manually.)
Trick I figured out this time around: For the crappy airs values, you can use one of the 0 action cost options then “Perhaps not” out. This rerolls your airs for 0 action cost and discards the card. Since it’s so frequent it’s probably better than keeping it in your hand.
…and what a ride it was!
With intention to do it most optimal way, and use no more Fate or non-Fate player gifts than absolutely necessary, with frantic listing of my deck day after day, with care about every Masquing point, throwing my usual farm mood out of the window and exchanging gifts left and right, I finally got all new Companions from this year, plus many collection items, plus Profoundly Educated Gentleman from previous years.
Collectionist in me is satisfied. Eventually I will collect them all, I hope.
I HAVE A CONTRARIAN!
Hopefully we can upgrade him later.

I have Sister Lydia and a Canny Costermonger.
Looking to trade for an unblemished exile’s rose.
Willing to trade any non-fate gift.
Does anyone have a list of which potential companions show up in other content, and which? I know most of them, but I’m only about halfway through the list of ES so I don’t know which of the remaining ones are from an ES I haven’t played yet or just Feast types.
Does anyone know where the trade thread is? I can’t seem to find it. I’m a also a bit late getting into this festival since I’ve been mostly away from the game for a long time, just popping in occasionally to do the Exceptional Stories. Still, I got a bunch of Ushabti to unload.
This i the thread. Remember to put your profile in your signature!

I would be interested in exchanging fate gifts. If any are interested, do not hesitate to contact me.
Still haven’t seen the Lady in Lilac yet, and haven’t seen the rose card for three days – the RNG hates me.
I would be interested in exchanging gifts; be aware that I am not able to give fate gifts. Have an exceptional feast.

I believe someone from FBG said just today that both the Encounter and the Lilac card would be pinned around 25 February. But I may be wrong, because the original Feast announcement said that exchanging Masquing for Companions would cease on 25 February.

EDIT: The original Feast announcement says that exchange of gifts ends 20 February. It would be natural for the cards to become pinned after that, and that is exactly what happened. Good thing too, at least for me. I only saw the Encounter card ONCE during the entire Feast–a few scant hours before Gift exchanging ended. And in my time zone, that hour was about 2 a.m.

I know this festival is about looking for something that’s hard to find, but I really gotta say… I was not expecting to work up such an appetite.
Did you know it’s possible to accidentally un-become Freed of the Name? I did not know this! There are rare successes potentially hiding in every gift-wrapped package, daring you to open them. Maybe you’ll be surprised and find something that you haven’t seen before, and didn’t even know existed.
I wish the rest of you the best of luck! Which in some cases means finding what you’re looking for, and in other cases does not.
That Deacon! Oh my. :)
So after never seducing the Deacon and having him enrol in the Army, this happened. Is he supposed to be this flirty, despite absolutely nothing unplatonic happening during the ES?
The time to seduce him was on the train, right? I couldn’t have accidentally earned his love later somehow if I spent the entire trip looking out of the window, could I?

There are only two kinds of realities: One where that love has been explicitly returned on a particular train ride (and he’ll now feel free to give you "a sharp, hungry" kiss) and one where it hasn’t (but he still thinks of you with "infinite fondness").
