Storm Threnoties

Okay, so… I have two Night Whispers, and I need Storm Threnodys. Threnodies? Therenodyies?

Ahywho, What’s the easiest way of grinding/getting the damn things? Do I want to collect a bunch of Shrieks or Prayers or Plaques? I heard there was a Rubbery hound Neathymon that gives them?

Speaking of the Rubbery hound, I have to actually see if I have any actual use of the University at this point. I’ve been reluctant to allow myself to get kicked out, as well, I do like the university. But Apparently to get to Flute Street I need to get kicked out of it, yes?

No idea what’s the easiest but I got my Threnodies from certain Forgotten Quarter Expeditions. I also made some through up-converting Aeolian Screams.

Not sure about Rubbery hound though. I used mine to make a certain Owl.

Yes you need to get kicked out of the University first. It’s the only way of triggering the &quotSolving Cases across London&quot story that leads to Flute Street.

I up convert my storm threnodies from aeolian screams as well, and get the screams from correspondence plaques. Those are level 3 items that can be obtained by a neverending conversion carousel that trades 50 of one for 51 of the next item plus making waves for some conversions.

It seems that the Thunder heard your request :)

Merry Sacksmas! Ask and ye shall receive!

It may not be effective, but I use the unfinished business in Ladybone roads, it gives me the Shrieks which I can use to convert to to screams and the rare success there which isn’t too rare gives the screams too, then you just convert the screams.

I get mine through a certain action with my goat.

Grind casing in the Flit, steal Journals of Infamy via thefts of a particular character.

Then convert 'em to Correspondence Plaques -> Aeolian Screams -> Storm Threnodies.

Wow, love the Father Ted reference, nice one Chris Gardiner. :)

I think it can be done a couple of ways as people have mentioned, so try out which one is preferable to you, Rae Ameras. I had approached it a few ways myself such as: Flit thefts for Journals of Infamy and up-convert as yetanotherone said, I up-convert my cryptic clues to appalling secrets to Journals of Infamy then up-convert for threnodies, and shriek hunting through a variety of ways like Ladybones Road or building The Hunt is On!. I am not sure which is the most efficient from everything said here, but I like variety to make the grinds a bit more tolerable.

Stealing Journals of Infamy is most efficiently done, and probably most efficient overall, if you have a Gang of Hoodlums and an 100% success chance on the associated shadowy challenge for building casing.

XP

I normally use Unfinished Business at Watchmakers Hill to get Rostygold, using the Ring Fights option.

This, for me, has been the biggest thing an Overgoat is good for! But I assume that’s not what you’re looking for. Seconding the recommendations to up-convert from Aeolian Screams.

There’s so much Greek in this game we might just as well switch to the appropriate alphabet: Θρηνωδίες.

Not having a 100% chance on the Gang of Hoodlum’s Casing, I’ve been hunting Spider Councils for Primordial Shrieks and converting up. Not sure on the efficiency of that though.

@Blaine Davidson: Now we know why your goat is always smiling.

Ach, I’m being such an accountant at this game, but…
Does anyone know if gaining ST through converting rubbery hound is better than other methods - EPA wise?
That includes traveling to a certain place through the short cut, doing the carousel (the late part of the carousel gives about 1.45 echos per action), getting the hound and readying it at the 4th coil.

I was unlucky at the first conversion and it gave me

4 Threnoties

Wonder if I should go there again

I think it’s one of the better sources of Primordial Shrieks for mid-level players. That would help you get decent Dangerous CP’s too. You might want to hunt and then breed Somnolent Hyaena’s at Labyrinth of Tigers too for Maniac’s Prayers if your Dangerous stat can handle it.
