Eventually? Yes, the account will be unplayable. The more immediate concern is spending all of your resources on a tedious grind to harm yourself.
For the record, you can go almost to the end of seeking without destroying the account. There’s a "turn back" option right before the end that actually gives you a +4 *dreaded (thanks for the correction) weapon. That being said, it takes a lot of sacrifice to get there.
If you actually "finish" it, though, that character is useless.

It’s a +4 Dreaded Weapon, actually, but still a great item to have.
For those who want additional Mr Eaten content, there are hints that the Dauntless Temperance Campaigner might have unwittingly and innocently gotten the Drowned One involved in her honey-fighting shenanigans (which is kinda hilarious). If she wins there might be additional stuff for Seekers or Eaten aficionados. Just saying ;)
It seems there is no limit to the desperate (seemingly mostly entirely imaginary) promises you and your cohorts will make to try and get votes, even in threads that have bugger-all to do with the election now.
Are you willing to say she’s advancing the Liberation of Night, too? That might get me to switch.
There’s a winky emoticon so I don’t think it’s fair to label it as a desperate promise, it’s more fun conjecture than manifesto commitment.
Oh, ok, thanks for the heads up. I’ll create a secondary account. Though TBF, we kinda already know what’s north because of sunless sea and sunless skies, but still, I love a good mystery.
St Beau’s is now mine. But a short story remains to be written. The road ahead remains long and horrible.
-snip-
On second consideration, I’m going to keep the election discussion off the Eaten topics.
Sorry for the hassle, everyone, we’ll be taking it elsewhere now.

Nice one. I agree, I think we should all quietly back away and gently shut the door behind us. :)
Precisely. I never promised that if the Dauntless Temperance Campaigner won, then the Drowned One would bestir himself from his well, come into London’s collective dreams, and serve us all a terrible and terrifying tea brewed from lacre and his own tears. All I did was point out that the DTC is pouring honey down a well and that this involves Mr Eaten. I mean, the whole reason it is a scandal is because of Mr. Eaten’s unspoken presence.
So if you’re a Seeker, or just really into the Mr. Eaten story, wouldn’t you want to see how far this goes? And remember how last year, after Jenny won, she had a story-line on Mutton Island during the Festival of the Zee? The same Mutton Island that’s (in)famous for the nature of its well and its hungry inhabitants?
I’m not saying Eaten’s Campaigner cameo will go anywhere or that anything will come of it, just that there’s a chance and only one way to find out ;)

NORTH, as it is in Seeking, is an entirely different experience than in Sunless Sea. You’re unlikely to know much of what is there for Seekers unless you’ve cheated and read the endings. Don’t do that; it’s far more interesting to go through without knowing.
I’d forgotten how expensive Seeking was.
A gold card ate seven actions and spat me out again with no result.

Ye gods, I remember how many times I tried to run to the bl—y nightmare carnival and failed
It’s like beating your head against a brick wall for no good reason, but isn’t it just lovely? I think I need to do it all again sometime.
I had no luck finding the answer through the forum’s search enginge, so- has anyone went NORTH with st Erzulie’s acquired via “(there is an alternative.)” and if so, are there any significant differences/consequences later on? I’m fishing for a yes or no answer mostly, not spoilers- just curious whether this choice actually matters.
I don’t think there’s any impact whatsoever.
If actions economy matters to you, you do save a few actions by skipping Obscurity.
No repercussions, but I personally think process of giving up the seven things was quite interesting.
Thank you! I was mostly interested in possible narrative repercussions of being a bas–rd who skimps on the suffering sacrifices ;)
