River in a box?

I think it’s unlilkely that it depends solely on having sided with the cheery man: after all, alexis did just do his bit about “no important missable content” and a short arc at the beginning of the game that you can’t redo leading to a super secret mirror box is kind of a contradiction of that philosophy

I’m not even sure the river has anything to do with it, besides the fact they’re both boxes.

Humph! Me picking up on them both being boxes and making the link is me being cunning and just like a detective, not mere coincidence, oh no.

the affair of the box II: mirror boogaloo

"I don’t think there’s any significant quality in the game that will be permanently useless or permanently unavailable, unless you’ve locked it out by a plot choice. "
Note: unless you’ve locked it out by a plot choice

i think that was more referring to crossroads-style content where you have to pick a certain option to conclude a storyline
but then again none of us know anything about the mirrorcatch box at all so we’re just blindly guessing in the dark here

You may also had to have sided with the Revolutionaries during Christmas. And THEN needed the Cheery Man at the right Winds. While having a box that you get when you have Connected Masters. And wearing the Anarchist’s Sable
Yes it sounds convoluted. But how else only 11 people in the entire game would get it?

Thing is, if it’s too convoluted then nobody at all would have found it
although admittedly that’s not all that convoluted, seeing as you’d just have to own the anarchists sable and have sided with the revs and the cheery man. it’d just have been a matter of luck being at the right Airs of London, i guess

the cheery man card is damnably rare

Eleven out of 20,000 active players is practically no one…

Still think now that it was either a very rare event at Christmas, or the river box became clickable during the closing Feast event and only a few people noticed.

Well if you play an anarchist, most of those conditions you would get naturally. The Wind is the only real random element. But if it was just a random element, or just a combination of qualities, more then 11 would get it.

I prefer alliteration in my cheesy sequel titles: Boxy Boogaloo; Mirrored Mayhem; River-box Retribution.

The box contains a representation of the Bazaar, so catching sunlight in it might have had some magical effect. I’ll certainly never know, now; I didn’t even think of checking the Box during the Event.

I do think that Polythreme is probably the one of the best bets for discovering the mirror-catch box. Has anyone gone there and poked at the river-in-a-box yet?

That’s an interesting idea; perhaps I will try it, after I collect my Journalist’s salary.

Delicious friends. Upon arriving in Polythreme my river-in-a-box is decidedly as inanimate as ever, I regret to inform you. I intend to explore further, but my hopes at the moment remain slim. I bid you well in your own investigations.

Hmm. Mirrorcatch box…

Has anyone investigated the Mirror-Marches yet? Or perhaps, even, The Mind of a Dead God?

Anyone tried going crazy and taking it to the Mirror-Marches? Or the Hall of Mirrors in the Carnival?

Granted, I have no particular logic for this suggestion besides the name similarities, but it’s not as if we have anything better to go on at the moment.

I visited both places during the flash of sunlight, but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. I was, however, running around like a decapitated chicken at the time, so it’s certainly possible that I missed something.

Wait, you went to the Marches during the Sunlight event? You Sir, are a hero.

I think we might be better off pursuing the Revolutionaries-Luminosity connection, given the references to the Calendar Council and the Cheery Man. But what content for them exists to be pursued? As far as I know, Plotting Against The Masters is stalled out for now (…not that I’d dream of such a treasonous course…), which leaves the 2013 Christmas Special, the Affluent Photographer, and what else?
