Radio Neath - Echo Bazaar soundtracks

Oh, I love this thread! Not to mention it’s filled to the brim with good musical taste! Absolutely delicious that!

Right, here are several pieces out of my thousands upon thousands collection.
Only several are kind of, roughly thematical - the rest, well they just pop in my mind from time to time when I lurk in FL or drown in SS. :D

Neroche - The Departure - YouTube

Lilium - sleeping inside - YouTube

Edit: Aaaand I’ll post the rest of the songs just as links instead as embedded items so the thread doen’t slow-load or kill someones bandwidth.

(1) Doktor Kosmos - Holiday - YouTube / Doktor Kosmo - Holiday => I imagine this is one of the songs that play in a never ending loop inside the Hell-bound trains at Moloch Street.

(2) Tiny Tim- Living in the Sunlight Lyrics - YouTube Tiny Tim - Living in the Sunlight => The Royal Bethlehem’s secret theme.

(3) Alexander Borodin: Requiem - YouTube Alexandar Borodin - Requiem => You can never go wrong with classical music. Also when I imagine the gates of the Avid Horizon opening or another city getting dragged underground - this is the musical piece that pops to mind.

(4) Fantomas Rosemary's Baby Music Video - YouTube Fantomas - Rosemary’s Baby => &quotA lonely night in the Iron Republic&quot

I say, have any of you ever heard of Malukah? She does covers for videogame songs as well as some original music. She’s her own singer, pianist, guitarist, and backing vocals/drums, and she’s also done a few collaborations with pianist Lara and violinist Taylor Davis (also check out Taylor’s music, I’ll throw in one of her songs for good measure). She’s extremely talented and I beg of you to support her music if you happen to enjoy it (which I can guarantee you will).

Malukah - Three Hearts As One - Elder Scrolls Online Bard Song - YouTube (Three hearts as one)

Lara, Taylor and Malukah play 'Fear Not This Night' from Guild Wars 2 (piano, violin and vocals) - YouTube (Fear not this night, collab with Lara and Taylor)

Malukah - Reignite - Mass Effect/Shepard Tribute Song - YouTube (Reignite, personal favourite)

He's a Pirate (Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Theme) Violin Cover - Taylor Davis - YouTube (Taylor Davis’ &quotHe’s a Pirate&quot cover, the Pirates of the Carribean theme)

I was just trudging through the Grunting Fen when this started up on the radio

Camille Saint-Saëns - Danse macabre - I picture tomb-colonists dancing to this.

Alestorm - Drink - Rowdy times at the Blind Helmsman.

Trust me to end us up on Wolfstack Docks listening to a bunch of drunken and morose zailors…

Leave Her Johnny

I imaagine this fitting the thieves, bandit Radio. On an accordion… title fits. Sounds good.

&quotFailure&quot by Breaking Benjamin always makes me think of Fallen London, especially the Liberation of Night, due to the lyrics &quotBury the sunlight&quot and &quottear the whole world down.&quot And the overall despairing tone of the song makes me think of some of the particularly bleak aspects of the lore, as well as my own character’s descent into despair and decision to end his suffering by wiping his memory.

No mention of the Liberty of Norton Folgate yet? Madness - The Liberty Of Norton Folgate (Moodboard) - YouTube

Personally, I downvoted you because I disagreed with your selection. Didn’t mean for it to be taken personally - sorry if I managed to offend.

Songs for those who suffer from recurring dreams of drowning, and worse:

Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows - Hearse-Shaped Basins of Darkest Matter
Birdeatsbaby - The Lighthouse (I find the lyrics in this one to be startlingly reminiscent of the Northridden)
Zoë Keating - Escape Artist
Through Waves - This Too Shall Pass, Movement II
Birdeatsbaby - The Sailor’s Wife
Nouvelle Vague - Waves
Terrance Zdunich and Jessica Lowndes - In All My Dreams I Drown

Also, I must echo Sir Frederick’s suggestions for Death By Water, because I absolutely love them. (in fact I adore and endorse the entire soundtrack proposed by him, but this part is most relevant to my post, so I’ll stick to it.)

Florence + the Machine - What The Water Gave Me
Florence + the Machine - Never Let Me Go
Florence + the Machine - Drumming Song[/quote]

I wasn’t offended, it just seemed pointlessly petty. I haven’t liked some of the songs suggested here either, but I didn’t go around giving other forum members negative rep because they have different tastes in music than I do. It’s fine to not like my suggestion, but I don’t see what was so wrong with my post itself.

Here’s a fanmix I made, actually! May as well explain my reasoning for all the songs here, though. They mostly all have a melancholy indie-rock sound, which I think fits Fallen London quite well! Most of these lyrics fall somewhere on the scale between ‘mournful’ and ‘angry as hell’, which I think fits too!
Also, two of them have Seven in the name and some are about drowning. Fun times.

Blindness- Metric- Absolutely haunting. Starts out soft and sad, gets bitter and intense.

Despair- Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Nothing like an ode to despair to set the good ol’ Fallen London atmosphere.
Seven Devils- Florence + the Machine- This is where the ‘angry as hell’ part comes in. Nice song to get revenge to.
Laughing with a Mouth of Blood- St. Vincent- Loving the dreamy, ominous quality this song has.
Power and Control (Acoustic)- Marina and the Diamonds- A soft, gentle song about manipulation and faking affections to gain power over people!
Yellow Flicker Beat- Lorde- A bit more modern sounding than some of the others on this mix but these lyrics are SO GOOD. Puts me in mind of both Seeking and the Liberation of Night.
Gigantomachy- Cake Bake Betty- A fairly pared-down song with great vocals and dreamlike lyrics.
Goat Shepard- Mirah- Another Super Duper Angry song about goats, good stuff
What the Water Gave Me- Florence + the Machine- Seeking: The Song. But seriously, this song is so great.
Seven Nation Army- Postmodern Jukebox- The vintage style of this one is so appealing, and the lyrics are seriously badass. Great cover of a great song.
Breathing Underwater- Metric- Starting and ending the mix with a song by one of my favorite bands seemed like a nice idea. And the lyrics for this one are fantastic.

The Depths below by Cog is dead for the zee sailors.

I think I’ve found the musical rendition of some part of the Crimson Book, and other neathy goodness.

Special mentions for:
Long Long Shadows | Unwoman - Burning, Yearning.
Flowering Vines | Unwoman - LoN happened. Whoops.
I Could Have Killed the King | Unwoman - Chess-dreams.

I see Abney Park, but no Steam Powered Giraffe? I’m not really into them anymore but it’s in a similar vein. Actually, I saw both acts performed live years back. Cool stuff. - Steam Powered Giraffe - Electricity is in My Soul (Audio) [2011 Release Version] - YouTube

More to my tastes, here’s Phelios. It’s a dark ambient project out of Germany by a guy named Martin Stürtzer, Good stuff, easy to chill to, and it’s got a sort of grandiose quality to it that lends itself well to the FL universe. Enjoy! - Gates of Atlantis | Phelios | Martin Stürtzer
