It seems that with every update the Pinewood Shark just gets more and more pathetically underwhelming.
It’s already a terrible option for gaining Esteemable Trophies, offering a whole 1 for the currently hardest animal to hunt. You get some fins for killing it, and researching its remains provides yet more fins to add to the mountain of fins that the Evenlode keeps dumping on me at every opportunity. There’s that one time extended research project so you can make fish skeletons and actually do something with those fins, except fins currently add no qualities to a skeleton and add such a pitiful 50 pence of value to it that it’s literally not worth the action to attach it! And you can’t even sell them as trash to the Bazaar!
In short, what am I supposed to do with all these fins? Unless there’s some massive rework on the way or a new buyer who loves fish skeletons, they seem utterly worthless. And the repeatable research project for shark remains providing more fins on top of the fins for killing it just seems like some kind of horrible running joke.

Indeed. The excess of fins is rather baffling, and the (unprolonged) Shark Dissection experiment does little to explain it. The ratio of research needed and yield provided is uniquely bad. I hope that something is to be provided to make Fish Skeletons and Fins more usable and worthwhile; perhaps with the eventual establishment of the Palaeontological Museum or once the Shapeling Arts get their cap-raising treatment. Both of these would make some sense, at least.
You’d think the Zailor with Particular Interests would be interested, but I guess that’s not a particular interest of theirs (yet, possibly).
He’s interested in Shapeling Arts. Fishes are plenty in the Unterzee.

As I recall, a palaeontological museum was planned, but most Londoners decided to vote for the kitty instead of science.

That just means it’ll happen later in the dev cycle. We’ll still get it eventually.
I know, but I was supporting Gebrandt so I had to get a bit of a dig in.
