Or cuddle up to the talkative rat and go looking for nasties around the Forgotten Quarter – worked for me when I did exactly the same thing recently.
Buy a Sporing Bonnet–they give you Nightmares +1, and can easily be reduced by just taking the hat off (returning you safely to below Nightmares 5.)
