As the title suggests, I’m on the very precipice of becoming a Person of Some Importance. And while I’m basically aware of some of the opportunities and difficulties this brings (in particular with menaces), there’s one thing I don’t know.
Is there any content I will not be able to enjoy upon becoming a PoSI that I should do beforehand? I know some methods of menace removal are gated off and some choices on opportunity cards change, but is there anything else notable?
Nope! Being a POSI will not cut you off from any stories. Menace reducing items from the Bazaar are worse, but apart from that it’s a pretty good thing.
Since I recall finishing their storylines around when I became a PoSI myself, make sure not to complete your stay in the University and Court! At least not before raising your Scholar of the Correspondence to 10 if you haven’t already done so, and there may be other similar things of interest remaining. (Once you become a PoSI, I also recommend you find your way to Wilmot’s End soon and search for Millicent Clathermont. Come the Feast of the Exceptional Rose this February, it will unlock options including obtaining a tattoo. Upgrading your Room at the Royal Beth at Penstock’s Wicket so it holds five cards is also important and time-restricted, so I recommend hurrying to reach Notability 3 to make the purchase.)
As it happens, I’ve finished neither, so no worries there. That said, I’ve found Millicent already during the previous Feast without traveling to Wilmot’s End, so what does that mean?
Hm. I’m not actually sure what that means? You probably don’t have to worry about that, though, especially if you were able to get a tattoo at the end of the last Feast of the Exceptional Rose.
Okay, you seem to be correct and I was confused due to the order in which I did things. With Entwined in the Intrigues of the Clathermont Family 8 two different options appear. The first is in Wilmot’s End unlocked with exactly Entwined 8 and allows your Search for a Missing Woman to be for Millicent herself; completion sets Entwined to 9. The second option appears in Ladybones with Entwined 8-9 during the Feast of the Exceptional Rose. Choosing it sets Entwined to 10, locking you out of the search in Wilmot’s End and kicking off the Lilac story leading to the Panopticon and ending with Entwined 30. So if you want the extra bit of content do the search in Wilmot’s End before the Feast of the Rose Lilac storyline but it turns out to be optional.
