I Thought That Spooky Holiday Was Over.

Holy crap.

So I was at Ms. Plenty’s Carnival, chugging spiced wine because… t’is the season.

I get a failure… then another failure… then another… and so forth, until I have a fail streak of 7 times in a row on a 50/50 check.

I then proceed to get a success… and then another… and so forth… until I ran out of actions with a win streak of, again, 7 times in a row.

Seven… Seven… Oooooooo… For those who somehow don’t know, the number 7 is an entirely different matter when it’s related to Fallen London.

I got lightheaded. As in, in real life, this freaked me out. What does it mean?! Why did it have to be seven?! I would have simply been annoyed with a failure streak, but exactly seven?!!

The number 7 is for a lot of things other than Mr Eaten, you know. Seven cities, seven Treacheries, seven doors, seven labyrinths, seven coils, seven colors, seven sharpnesses. There you go, seven non-menacing sevens for you. All shall be well, even when it’s sevenfold.

Boom. I cracked the case. Not so menacing now, now that I know the truth:

Seven ate nine.

Seven ate nine.

Ah yes. But why did seven eat nine? Can you solve that lofty riddle?

Because one dared it to try?

Because you’re supposed to eat three squared meals each day?

A truly terrible, and correct, answer.
