Hallowmas, 1891: The Visitors Are Here

I really can’t choose… I have &quotA blaze of distant light…&quot
Does anyone know if the fate option is worth it?
Worth for what? If you mean the bonus in characteristics that the Destiny gives, it seems to me it’s pretty average (even the fate-locked option), other equipment gives more. So I think the criterion should be role-playing, the best destiny for what you think is your character.

Something that frustrates me because I’m mainly a (highly inspired, even if others say mad) technocrat, and there are almost never choices for iconoclastic scientific characters here :)

P.S.: did someone choose the bloody-handed queen?

Mind that these bonuses stack with all existing equipment, meaning they’re quite high - they’re not ALTERNATIVE to equipment, they ADD to it ^^

What did you choose? I’d kill to read the outcome of the Bishop-aiding option in Silvered Destiny, it’s the only one I’d ponder besides the Magician.

I choose the rubbery men option, so my destiny lies in the sea, not near the Bishop I am afraid

So, from what I’ve gathered so far from this thread:

Apologies for the unmarked spoilers. I was summarizing what’s been discussed so far but I forgot that I was including some stuff from profiles that hadn’t been posted here directly.

I got a silvered future from the Magician, but I’m unsure if it offers the same options that the Silvered Future from the Bishop or Devil do. If so, I’d be curious to know how either of those choices manifest differently, and whether it also changes the destiny reward. So far it seems as if the visitor affects both the future and your choices within it, and your choices within it affect the destiny item you receive. That’s a lot of different potential outcomes to figure out.

The bishop’s is echoed here I think

Thanks! Well, I’ll be mad, but I actually like the Magician’s outcome more than any of the others. Only one question - is there any way to get the Revelation destiny from the Silvered Destiny storyline? That seems interesting too ^^

I have a new candle! Hurrah! But how dare you suggest I would be so common as to get a tattoo, Alexis :D

As another character closest to the Great Game (and even considering going to the Revolutionaries), I was not at all disappointed with the fate-locked portion of Chill of the Void. Promises can be broken.

Personally, I felt like I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting into. Well, actually, scratch that. The Road was completely unexpected and awesome, but nonetheless when I invited a special constable in on an option that required knowledge of the correspondence I had a pretty good idea my destiny would involve The Masters and The Bazaar. It certainly didn’t feel arbitrary.

Screenshots, lady and gentlemen!
Take screenshots! (since journal sucks and the wiki is lost to us) This must be saved for posterity!
I am sitting looking at the Pricked finger screen now. Can share with anybody taking the other options.

Agreed on that, but the Devil and the Bishop leading to ending up in the service of the Finger Kings was rather unexpected, given their story up to this point.[li]

the fifth candle involves biting back your dignity and… getting a tattoo…
the most difficult task of all

Noooooooooooo. Ahem, I meant… noooooooooo.

I am similar in profile to Sackville. Now stopped at the choice that includes fate locked. Think I’ll have a swim and ponder…

I’m quite torn. Align or deny? Stall or mystery?

What header art did people have? Mine is sun/ fractal like. If ppl had other can we get that posted somewhere?

You get a snail-mail from Alexis with the design of the Correspondence sign. Then you have to make a tattoo with it. That gives you the next candle.

Actually, I think, I remember a conversation a long time ago with Mr.Eaten’s twitter involving tattoos.

These are the options for the silvered future, except the Bishop

It’s revenge for the sunless sea tattoos, that’s what it is. I resent this :D

The fate-locked option of the silvered future is horrifying and immensely satisfying at the same time.

In a way, this IS what I have always wanted to be in the Fallen London.

And I haven’t decided yet! I’m torn between that and the Queen…

How about I free Mr.Wines and you the Queen? That will have all Parabola choices covered.

I had the Castle of Forests one. I added it in the image gallery in my Journal (entry: Choose your destiny!).

On a side note, I cannot help but notice there is no “happy” ending. So do not fret and pick what appears to be most tantalizing to you; nobody is going to live happily ever after, even for a given value of “happily” and “after”.

Yet I feel the need to stress that all of the endings I have glimpsed so far have felt as satisfying as they felt conclusive.
