Great to hear this and nice to see MW displayed on the left side panel! :)
Way to go, FBG!
I haven’t noticed that!
That is a much welcome update to the UI!

It is indeed! (Esp. for someone who’s been grinding them all week to recover after becoming an Extraordinary Mind.) Please, forward this bottle of Broken Giant to the rats.
And actually, this Darkdrop, too. They probably need it more.
thank the rats almighty.
I was thinking that a lot of us on this side of the pond might be scarce on the ground on Day 1, owing to the eclipse. Then I remembered the police warnings about traffic (I live on the path of totality, and the number of expected visitors is in the millions), and thought, nope, a lot of us might just stay in all day and avoid the congestion.
If you’re in the path of totality, can’t you just look out of the window/garden/front door?
Oooh! I wonder if we can feed strange catches or other fun things to folks at private dinners. This’ll be the first year for me and i’m excited.
You can sort of do that already.[li]

I don’t remember that?[/li]
They added an option last week or so to serve your guest a severed head.

It’s a pretty narrow path. I don’t believe it passes over any major cities, so the vast majority of people won’t see totality out their window. Of course, everywhere in the continental US will have at least a partial eclipse, but that’s not nearly as interesting as the couple minutes of totality.
Okay, fine, is 2 minutes of the sky being dark really worth the hassle? I dunno, but I’ll be d***ed if I don’t go see it.
Edit: oh, whoops. Didn’t realize the person you replied to said they lived in totality. Anyway. Carry on. Fruits of the zee!

Ooh, ooh!
I would like to be served a severed head. Would anyone oblige?
Is there a primer on the fruits of the zee festival somewhere? It’ll be my third one at least but I can’t for the life of me remember what items to prepare.
You don’t really need to do much preparation for Fruits of the Zee. Going fishing lets you get the Strange Catch quality (not to be confused with the item) and recent quirk levels are all you really need. For high-level Strange Catches you do need good luck or Map Scraps/Zee-Ztories/Partial Maps to spend. You may already have all the available items from past years, though - unless of course there’s new content for our new Mayor.
Salem OR, Casper WY, Lincoln NB, Kansas City MO, St. Louis MO, Nashville TN, Columbia SC, and Charleston SC are all in the path of totality. Some of these (like St. Louis) are on the edge, so some people will see totality out their windows, and some won’t. Not that anyone is likely to simply glance out the window when totality hits.
But as you say, Fruits of the Zee! If past years and the earlier festivals are any precedent, I think we can fairly expect something new at the Zee festival. I do hope that they don’t Fate-lock everything that’s historically been available, though, no matter how much new stuff might be around to take it’s place. It’s rather depressing.

My alt will oblige. She’s just trying to see to her Starveling before she goes NORTH. If you really want, I’ll send you an invite for your Head dinner tonight.

I know of a certain Calendar Council who might have a strong opinion on this…
That’s not really a strange catch…
I think he meant the option to purchase a platter of zee-food for your table.
Be careful with the eclipse, you don’t want to permanently damage your eyes.
