Are there just two new dream qualities, Salt-Veined and Stone-Hearted?
Correct. The third dream quality is not new, as the third card raises Stormy-Eyed.
Project Editor is a response to the game’s long-term issues with basic typographical errors in new content. This is a major new initiative, which will improve how you perceive Fallen London. It’s meant to express the change of your character from a grumpy nit-picking perfectionist to a happy nit-picking perfectionist, fulfilling the player fantasy of error-free text that has always been present in the game in some ways (for example, with the fact that we are writers and we take pride in our work). But it’s also meant to change proofreading in radical new ways, and we expect it to be a significant improvement of new stories. I expect this to be ready to show to players in more detail around the middle of Frebruray.
I’m not going to stand here and pretend I didn’t just look up that word to make sure I knew how many of those Rs don’t belong there
Surprisingly less than you’d think (or at least less than I thought)
February, but it sounds like febuary. The more you know, the more you question the English language.
Genuinely a bit shocked by this, Penea
Y’all are doing a great job. We love the game. The updates are awesome
The crowned woman smiles. “Our plans require someone who can navigate the Stacks.” She pours you a measure of Hell’s finest brandy. "We need you*."*
Firmament Chapter 4
25th March 2025
Put on a brave face.
Almost 7 months between chapters. I am frustrated.
It’s a free game. There are plenty of other narrative-driven games to play while you wait.
It can be but many of us do pay because we believe in the game and want to support it. It’s reasonable to be frustrated with a 7 month gap after bimonthly updates were promised at the start of last year and we ended up with three updates. I understand development takes time and there has CLEARLY been some issues splitting FBG’s attention lately, but the state of the promised updates, promised mechanical reworks, and recent exceptional stories definitely is concerning for the state of the game. We still haven’t gotten the Christmas premium story for last year that was meant for January. Even money making features are falling behind.
I’m not frustrated, but I am worried about the state development is in and whether there might be something going on behind the scenes we don’t know about that would impact us being able to play the game long term, and I get why people WOULD be frustrated.
Maybe Failbetter are operating on Valve time. Updates will be released when they’re done. If the company is in dire straits, financial or otherwise, I’m certain that statements will be released in due course.
There is something going on behind the scene: it’s the kickstarter for the ttrpg.
And also the non-Neathverse game they’re working on!
And the 15th anniversary surprise too!
I actually think if the thing behind the scenes causing work on the main game the studio is known for to be this far behind is other games that worries me MORE about sunsetting, honestly.
I just love this game and I guess with how specifically the last year has gone that it… Might not be getting updates soon in favor of other work the studio does. I realize my initial post was kind of emotional and might not have conveyed that as well
I have been playing Fallen London for 15 years. Though I’d be a bit sad if it vanished tomorrow, I could live with that prospect.
I remember in a post that their strategy was to make sure the studio is alive even after a failed project. This makes me think we’ll surely see their 20th anniversary!
As I did 5 years ago: I am certain we will get it, but I can’t say anything about the 25th anniversary! Not because of FBG, but because that date lies too far into the unknown future.
BUMP!
Get ready for tomorrow!

The main thing is the Ratwork Mechanism, which requires 2 runs through the Stacks. Those same runs will also net you the required Crackling Device. Starved Expession is noteworthy but not difficult.
Also took care of my weeklies, got my menaces down, and have a petty cash fund of stuivers for emergency impulse purchases.
