I am aware that we cannot post Fate-Locked spoilers and that, for that reason, the wiki does not contain any information for Fate-locked storylines. However, it is getting very awkward trying to traverse fate-locked content, especially when it comes to the opportunity cards (because by definition you don’t know whether you are missing something).
So I have a proposal that I need vetted in terms of whether it is allowed under the forum rules.
The proposal is this: A post/thread that contains a warning and a spoiler box. Inside the spoiler box is a list by name of Fate-locked opportunity cards with frequency and unlock requirements. That is all. No links, no snippets of text. Simply an index that allows Fate-paying players to track their progress through stories that are opportunity based. If either the name of the card or the unlock requirements are themselves a spoiler then the names could be spelled out with underscores to obfuscate the spoiler nature but to still provide a way to identify whether you have or have not encountered the relevant card.
Yeah, I agree with Cecil. That thread is really not a good place for this purpose.
Ok, the number of likes is encouraging but still no opinions on the actual “legality”. I am bumping this to give FBG a chance to chime in if need be (now that it’s no longer the weekend). And if no ominous warnings ensue will risk creating a new thread.
Personally, I think that just listing names of cards (except where the name itself might be a spoiler) and what unlocks them falls under "guidance".
When the list is made, it would be good to have a template or standard way of listing these. I propose something like:
NAME, FATELOCKED STORY NAME. note if it is a branch of that story that you choose or if its a guaranteed result of that story, CARD PREREQUISITES, CARD RARITY, FATE COST, NOTES.
Then leave out the details like flavour text, what it does, etc.
So for example:
"The Frustrated Detective", from ‘A Closer look at the Velocipede Squad’, not choice-specific, requires ‘The Spinning of the Wheels’ 1-3, rarity Unknown, 20 Fate cost, Note: The only visible option requires ‘Riding The Savage Cobbles’ 7.
How does that look to people? Part of the reason for including the fate cost is so that people who might be intrigued can look into buying it, and partly so that stories which have a couple of commonly used names (‘A Trade in Souls’ / ‘The Soul Trade’) will be easier to match up. If two similarly-named stories have different Fate costs, then we’ll know at a glance they’re not the same thing.

I was about to get very confused RE: the fate cost, but that’s actually splendid logic.
I propose, in turn this format:
STORYLINE - FATE
NAME - FREQUENCY
REQUIREMENTS
NOTES
Or, for a commonly asked after card…
The Formula for Empyrean Redolence - 20 Fate
For Once, Your Stallion is Behaving - Standard Frequency
1 x Obdurate Stallion, Bound in Diocesan Intrigue 0
(Also, The Frustrated Detective is standard frequency)
How’s the image? Yes? No? edited by Cecil on 3/8/2016
Sorry, peeps. RL is being a bit RL atm. I do intend to do this eventually but if someone wants to take it forward without me I have no objections at all
One other thing it would be useful to record during this process, if not necessarily for adding to the template, is card IDs for the opportunity protector extension and such.
Those are really easy to grab actually, because the card protector extension uses the same id that FL uses to record text to journals. So ‘Is your plant thirsty?’, for example, uses this link to record: http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/ShowMore/17559/EventConclusion and the card protector would just use 17559. Mind, this only works for cards and not options.
