Fate-Locked Content

I took a chance on these too, as I couldn’t find much feedback on them but I really enjoyed the Pygmalion stories and was looking to train up my persuasive stat. I found that I really enjoyed them both as well! In my case I preferred the rubbery story, but both were very sweet and satisfying. Decent payoff too - not great, but worthwhile. Mostly, tho, really engaging little stories.

vaFinally, I unveiled the Flute Street storyline! Now I need some help from fellow Fallen Londoners. Is there any provisions I should get before venturing beneath? (Currently I’m amassing Foxfire Candles, I’m thinking about around 1000 more than the minimum). Should I reduce Menaces first? Of course, being a Fate-locked storyline, it is probably better to PM any piece of advice. Thanks in advance!

You should have needed a shopping list to unlock it. That list will be more than enough to get through the journey, and it’s likely that you’ll never use some of them. So, you’re probably okay.

Thanks! No extra candles or goldfish then?

The goldfish will let you progress via an opportunity card i think? that might be lizards. if you’re dangerous enough (~100 or so?) that will also suffice for that card
Once I’ve Made My Decision Re; Diocesan Intrigue, when does the storyline progress further? Do I need to keep a hound of heaven around? Is the storyline done already?
also i’m kinda curious as to what would have happened had i chosen differently

Making the decision appears to be the end of the Diocesan Intrigue.

So I’ve just finished the Rubbery Murders storyline…do you ever know who the real killer was? I’m not sure if my choice was right.

I believe that’s the whole point of the storylet. You gather your evidence, you make your case, and justice is served… but you’re let with that nagging doubt “Did I get the right man?” Though, I’m pretty sure my choice was the correct one.

Can anyone message me how you get the Unearthly Fossil?

I have access to Flute Street but can’t seem to find any. I’d like to further my collection of all things Rubbery. :ζ

Make sure you’ve gone through every storylet down there. I don’t remember exactly which one gives it, but one of them does.

It’s called “Explore the deepest depths” or something very much like that.

ah, that definitely helps. Thanks :)

It’s “The Deepest Tunnels”, precisely.
Just to throw that in here: We’re not allowed to discuss Fate-locked things, but I guess there are no restrictions on echoing? I’ve been replaying the whole Flute Street content over the last couple days and carefully saved everything to my journal, in case someone wants to have a look…

As far as I know, there’s no rule against echoing. I’ve echoed plenty of fate-locked content, simply because I cannot look it up on the wiki and may want to easily look back on it.

I’m wondering whether to pay for House of Chimes access for a month… but I want to make sure I’ll be able to make the most of it while I’m there.
My stats are Persuasive 64, shadowy 62, Dangerous 39, Watchful 36.
Also - I’ve heard lots of great things about the regretful soldier story line - do you need to meet him before entering the House of Chimes?
Thanks for any help!

If you’re doing his storylet there, then yes: You must meet him beforehand.

So, um. In the Foreign Office…what’s the deal with the thing on the roof? And what’s the deal with the Face? I know what the Teeth are, but the Face is bloody confusing… a pitch-perfect chorus who apparently can only eat something that we can’t? And what’s with the tea?

I guess they’ll have to Face the consequences. :)

The thing on the roof is The Vake. As for the Face, it appears that they are folks afflicted with Unnaccountably Peckish.

Are you sure the thing on the roof is actually that, rather than a different but related creature?

It is very similar to the bits you see when doing the Ambition.
