[/color][color=#6666ff]We recently ran a closed beta with a small group of players to gather initial feedback and hunt down some bugs. Since then we’ve spent time implementing changes, fixing all the issues and also working on the mobile responsiveness of the site. The Fallen London app will be retired very soon which is why we’re keen to make sure the new site works well on a range of browsers on mobile devices. [/color]

[/color][color=#6666ff]We’re now getting ready to run a second, larger beta and we’re looking for volunteer testers. Since the focus of this beta is to look at the mobile responsiveness, we’re particularly interested in hearing from you if you own a mobile or tablet device. All we’ll be asking you to do is play the game as you normally would via our beta site and send us feedback and bug reports.[/color]

In the original announcement you mentioned that the new page will go live before the app will be retired. Considering that the original date for that is just two weeks from now, could you give us some insight if those plans have changed and if so in what way?
I.e. will the app be available longer than originally planned? Will the app be retired with the old page still being active? Is there an updated schedule when the new page will go live?
This is a great question. Are you able to wait and pull the mobile app from the servers only after the web redesign is fully launched?

[color=#6666ff]The new Fallen London website has been delayed a little. The app will still be retired as planned on 25th April and then hot on the heels of that will be this second beta. Once that has been completed we’ll be bug fixing and implementing further feedback changes. From there we’ll make a decision on the launch date of the new site, so I can’t give any exact dates just yet, but we’ll definitely let you know in plenty of time before we make the switch. [/color]

I am very much against this whole thing. A game set in the 1800s ought to look old-fashioned, you know?
Signed up for the beta, the form asks for your operating system twice? And only the second says ‘list all available to you’ so i only put my phone down for the first time it asked to try & make parsing easier but
I very much want in on this as I’ve just got a high level security job where I can’t play in the tabletop browser. The app shows no images for me (and never worked all that well on my phone, to be honest) and the website is a massive pain to use on mobile.
My three wishes:
- card names visible immediately
- switch between outfits on the main screen. Ooh, a $STAT check? One tap and I’m dressed for the occasion.
- Fate gifts. (Can we hope they’ll come back after the app is disabled, before the redesign?)
