EXCEPTIONAL STORY: FLINT PART II, WINE OR WOUND

I’ve been lingering in the forest trying find a way to complete the Huz bit. Collecting comforts, have gotten as high as 8, but twice a card (actually I’m not sure it’s card…it just pops up) has come up

Something about flint holding fire…and my flesh wanting to turn to flint or fire…or something…(is this the result of too much cherty?)

which seems to give me no choice but to blow 5 comforts or return to Caution, which I assume means leaving the forest and being unable to return. Am I mistaken about this? Is the only way around to just suck it up and gather more comforts and hope the RNG doesn’t give me this obstacle before I’ve got enough comforts and gotten whatever it is I need to complete the Huz story?

Hmm. My Cherty seems to be 8. Am I, ahem, boned?

Accumulating Cherty may cause difficulties on your expedition such as the one you encountered. Returning to Caution allows you to remove your Cherty via the option there. You can return to the Forest after leaving but will lose your progress towards the goal; I’m pretty sure you’ll keep expedition supply items like Comforts.

I’m in a similar situation, but since getting to the required progress seems easy I may just take the free trip back to town the next time I’m set back…

Thanks!

If I don’t appoint the woman in yellow as my deputy, will she stay with me after the story?
And if I do, on hard difficulty, is there any way to keep her through the end?

Whoops!

Returning to Caution removes all Plans, Inclinations, and Comforts, and the Path/Huz qualities entirely.

Beware!

I believe the only way to lose her is

to play on hard and tell her to look backwards rather than stay positive and look toward the future, in which case you lose her later

Thanks Optimatum!

Another question -
I’m on the way to the South from Apis Meet, AND I signed up for the Neathmas card swap - do I need to rush through the story or is there a way for me to leave and then return later?

When is your TtH coming, LawrenceKeyworth? As long as you aren’t going to be losing the Advent cards when your week resets, there’s no need to rush.

Tomorrow at 7:00PM Eastern Time, unfortunately.

I’d like to know what happened with the Sometimes choices too to be honest. In return I offer this little reward based trinket in regards of Apis Meet:

Not sure how useful it is since I have no idea what it is for, But I got a Bell of Styian Ivory from exploring the ruins for what I can only assume was a Rare Sucess since the other times I got the coral thing. Might be handy if you ever want more than one for some reason.[i]

Edit: you can only have one spoiler tag per entry. I moved the quoted reply to one tag; I suggest you edit yours to do so as well.
Explored that location for 4 days (3 days before leaving south, 1 day more when I returned back) so yeah, it looks like it was a rare success indeed, or you had some things or conditions that made you get it instead.
Pretty sure that was Evening and the other result was Morning and Afternoon.

I finished part I last month, but I seem to be stuck in the house of chimes just asking the bishop questions. Where is the next step?

Thanks,

If you’re ready for Part II, go to Wolfstack and get on a boat for the Elder Continent.
I set off to Zee and didn’t have the option to go to the Elder Continent. What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks,
Mark

According to my echoes, it looks like I talked to the Bishop in Wolfstack and then set zail in my ship. If the option isn’t there for you, I don’t know what to do except email support@failbettergames.com

The story took me around three days (over one of which was spent just in Apis Meet), but that was with trying to do every single option possible. It can definitely be done a lot faster. The only thing you have to worry about is if you already got some cards from the Advent Calendar; you’ll effectively lose those when TtH comes if they aren’t sent.

Is The Word of Caution a consumable item? If it is, can someone tell me the points where spending it is more rewarding?

That’s right, just like how the storyteller has different stories and payouts at different times, also I think the sitting with those who are being consumed by the flame change when you stay another day and not depending on the time of the day.

I’m pretty sure it’s not! You get it as an equippable item with Watchful +5 and Bizarre +1

I didn’t realize that asking Feducci about the Knapt would lock all other options for asking. Can someone PM me the text from asking other people?

Is there any chance of missing anything when I begin the journey?

About the ball of stygian ivory:

I came away with three. I believe I found one every time I explored the ruins in the evening, but never other times of day. So not so rare a success, though if others are having different luck perhaps it is influenced by some quality or other.
