Some of the (minor) Estival rewards can only be obtained when it was played live, not played in the Waswood version. That’s the way it is.
For other stuff, you might get the reward playing normally in the live Estival, but it needs a bigger cost to get in the Waswood version. Case in point: Great Sinking. My main played it live years ago, and got the Singed and Stained Work Gloves without spending a T8 item to get the A Reverie of Heroism. In the Waswood version of the Great Sinking, you need to spend that T8 item if you want the gloves.
I am having so much fun with the number of different ways to play Coilheart games. It’s really cool to see the options that different champions have (though I wish all of them were as varied as the Champions of Intellect. Those are utterly awesome).
Does anyone know if it is possible to get The Founding Principles of an Infernal Enclave in the Waswood version of Hell is Missing? If so, I’ll go back for another run.
Also, is there a wiki page up for the Waswood version of Hell is Missing yet? I presume it will end up as a link from the Sacroboscan Calendar page eventually The Sacroboscan Calendar (Guide) - Fallen London Wiki but it’s not there yet.
I’m working on becoming a Stuvier millionaire (and then generously donating my funds because Burgundy is a corrupt government and the Duchess only awards the privilege of a 4 card deck to committed lobbyists) so it’s the Rooted Chaplet and the Escritoire Espalier for me (had a little Fate left over from other things).
I chose the electrostatic bathtub, because the grind frustrated me whenever I needed to get a parabolan apple/orange. Also, the stats are pretty good. That left me with enough tokens for Zeven Zurly Zailors. Seemed like a good buy for a BIS advanced skill item, and I like to build out my crew options since there are so few options for that slot.
I got the Fourth City Eyeball (APoC Hat) and the Varchaasi Holdall (Glasswork Luggage), mostly because I liked the items.
But I now also have enough APoC items to run the Hearth And Home plot at 90% while keeping 100% success on the Kraken action on the Bazaar card.
In general, if you only consider the stats, the most efficient use of Tokens is a 30 Token BiS item + a 20 Token BiS item. The 50 Token items are nice, but their stats are not significantly better than the cheaper items.
Excellent news, delicious friends! There is a vanity quality for repeatedly crawling inside the Law Furnace after there is no possible benefit to doing so. The best type of vanity quality.
By the way, if you want to get a T8 item that gets you the gloves in the Great Sinking, doing the EpA grind in this event, spending that to buy Diary of the Deads, get inside the Cave of the Nadir to get Fecund Ambers and/or a Fluke-Core.
5 Diary of the Deads for one Fecund Amber.
5 Fecund Ambers for one Fluke-Core.
Getting the card you want to show up inside the Cave of the Nadir can be a lottery. Otherwise, you can get your Fecund Ambers from the Fruits of the Zee event, or from the Rat Market on certain weekends.
What you recommend is possible, but it’s time consuming. I’ve gotten 2x fecund ambers on a single trip to the cave of the nadir, but only once when I got super lucky with card draws. Most of the time I get 1 amber per trip or none. So I think this route is likely to take more than 5 weeks. All of the T8 items are difficult to acquire, but some can be acquired faster than others.
What I did when I was short on time and wanted a T8 item for the gloves in the great sinking was to use my laboratory to research an impossible theorem. The research costs are very high, but the time to research can be accelerated considerably by spending searing enigmas. Your mileage may vary.
