Connected: Rubbery Men Rework in Progress

I’m wondering how &quotSomeone is coming&quot will work once all of the changes are implemented, as I get most of that quality from conflict cards right now.

As a merely sort of active player, i’ll say that while i can see the dev’s reasoning, there’s nothing to be feared about adding new options on cards that were already, theoretically, good, or are punishments for buying gear.

If there was a renown-locked option to gain hell favors on the overgoat card if you had an overgoat, or a tolerably profitable way to cash them in for those who don’t, i’d take it every time- as i don’t care enough about echoes to spend 8 actions in one go for 25 in the form of a tolerably useful and utterly useless item.

Adding renown-locked favor gain options on the POSI gear cards would be very nice- or at least the ones with bad epa, as i am cursing my need of the library and wishing i could sell my gymnasium at the moment, since both add mediocre cards to my deck when i want to get airag. Making a use for them- even an unprofitable one that costs goods and returns less favors than the goods were worth- would be very nice for someone in the endgame grind like me. maybe even enough to make me consider getting a respectable landeau.

I guess I hadn’t hit anything that dealt with the Rubbery Men for a while, and didn’t realize that the Rubbery Men had been converted. It comes as a heavy blow to me, as my goal had been to reach Connected: Rubbery Men 1000. I had made it to to the 970’s. It has of course been replaced by Renown: 50. I wish we’d at least gotten to keep the old meaningless number even if it was never used for anything. I don’t even have a screenshot of however high I’d managed to get it. I’m actually really sad about this.

I share your pain. My Connected: Church is 1616, and I am not looking forward to the conversion that will lop it down to a mere 50.

Thanks. I already feel sad for http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/Nathan~Attford-Fenwick and his 12,000+ Society.

It’s the pulsating amber, and its in merrigans exchange, so that’s probably why you couldn’t find it.

Also available from a rare success in the Forgotten Quarter, conversion of a few 2.5E items, and a card in the Nadir.

As it happens the Landau card is actually quite decent, certainly better than the Clay Sedan Chair IMO. It has an option with no quirk loss, 1.65 E of items, and a chunk of society gain.

I’ve been thinking about getting a Landau, but I think I’ll wait until we find out whether it’s going to give a society favour.

I would bet so, but can’t hurt to wait.

yes, but it’s not good enough to be worth spending my money to add an average-at-best card to my deck, and it’s too late to sell the sedan chair. when they change it, if it gives a society favor, i’ll buy it then, but otherwise they need to add something better than decent or a way to lose the stupid cards.

I don’t remember this being mentioned yet. There is a certain Fate Locked carousel in Mahogany Hall that pays out one Rubbery Favor at the end.

Is it a one-time payment for infinite use, or a payment-per-loop?

You have to pay each go, I believe. Flute Street is quite possibly more action-efficient anyways.

Payment per loop. I wish that it was permanent…

Hopefully, the devil one will pay out Hell Favors once Hell gets converted. I need a Persuasive grind to work on.

Well, I’ve been grinding since March the Rubbery connection and 2 days ago I’ve finally got the Renown to 40, claiming the third Rubbery object! Whoo hoo!
Only to find out it’s at the weapon’s slot, not the companion’s slot, and I already have a better persuasion weapon (from profession).
So basically that 6 month grind turned out to yield no significant prize :p

&quotLondon ran out of urchins due to the staggering amount of casualties from the relevant Exceptional Stories&quot :(
