This Hallowmas, I’ve got something far spookier than some new companions or confessions. I worked and toiled, using blood and sweat and tears and my own eyes (they got better) to obtain…
Only 6777 more (what’s that, a year and a half of dedicated grinding? Who needs some fruit drink anyways?)and then my beautiful baby tree can become a Spider-Senate!

At the start of Hallowmas, I had 2 hats in my hand, 4-card lodgings but no Bat with Attitude.
Moved into the Mansion, discarded both hats, started grinding echoes to buy Companions in case I do manage to acquire the bat.
Got:
a Matriarch from a cat box (a day after buying one normally)
a Starveling Cat from a cat box (always wanted an echo of both)
a Commotion Above!
another hat
many, many strange pranks
Last day of Hallowmas, I draw my third bat card in 2 weeks and get the rare success.
I suppose it could count as good fortune, not sure. Partly choice, partly fortune, but all in one week I’ve been kicked out of Court and the University, received my Foreign Office posting, discovered Flute Street and finally unearthed an Eyeless Skull and therefore entered the Cave of the Nadir. These things all just seemed to come together at the same time.
It has been quite the week. Like having Bonfire Night, Christmas, New Years and Easter all on the same day. London is going to seem a little dull for a while after this.
Yesterday I discovered that you cannot summon the Amanuensis with Favourable Circumstances.
I also had three consecutive rare success on upcrafting Memories of Distant Shores.

Well, you can summon the Amanuensis when you have enough MW. And the whole (in)famous thing is that if you don’t have Notability you have to wait to draw it. This wouldn’t have been an issue if you could summon him using Favorable Circumstances.
You might be thinking of the Portly Sommelier, who can be summoned with Favorable Circumstances.

Well, it would still be kinda an issue since you can, sorta, use Favorable Circumstances once.
In a Notability grind (Paramount Presence, This year’s Hallowmas) you would not buy each round another FC with 7 Notability (which you’ll need to build up to N8 or zero your N7 and wait again for the Amanuensis in a terrible cycle of luck and Circumstances).

For PP, there isn’t much urgency for the Amanuensis. Hallowmas is a different matter.
I just received a considerable quantity of Luck.
Perhaps I will pay the Fate to change my Destiny to Passion one day.

From the edge of nightmares to the mind of a long dead god I have built my reputation and scoured The Neath to find the rewards of fame. This feels like it took as long as the Cider grind did. Less dedication, but slowly building up Favors from cards and then exchanging them for Renown over and over again took a very long time. Especially since I was Cider grinding through a good chunk of the conversion and had exchanged most of my connections for echoes to that end. Now it’s finally over and I can happily forget that Renown is a thing.
Your achievement is currently besmirched by photobucket’s demands of upgrade. It is a most terrible image host and no one can see the picture.
Last week, with one hour to go before Time the Healer, I got my Notability up by 2 points in one day.
