Bone Market - recipes of the week

Neat, thanks for the correction! : )

This week’s design is a human torso with an engraved skull and four ivory humeri, resulting in an Ape. The goal is to achieve fast exhaustion, transform a poor-quality torso into useful cash, and reduce my ivory hoard from the 7th Coil event.

I’ve been thinking about this. To add 6 Segmented Ribcages, you need an uhnoly amount of Nevercold Brass (don’t ask me how I know). To add joints two times, you need 900+2500=3400 Warm Amber. Given how hard Warm Amber is to source, I don’t know if it’s possible for this to even be worth it. Is there really no good reliable way to make skeletons for Boot Salesman without spending a fortune on assembling them?..

I guess the cheapest way to get 14 joints would be to combine both methods (first add joints, and then add 4 more Segmented Ribcages)? Then it seems the cost in Pennies would be:

(252^2)+(501)+(502^3)+(503^3)+(50*4^3) = 5100

That’s 42E more than just adding joints to Flourishing Ribcage (900) and selling a skeleton with 9 legs for 0 Exhaustion.

From 14 legs, we get 166E in Ostentatious Diamonds, for 9 legs it’s 63E.

So… it seems this method is only barely able to pay for itself (-42E in costs, -50E for 1 Exhaustion, 11E left). And that’s ignoring all the extra Action costs for assembling… But I suppose it’s fine if you have too many unsold legs and too much Warm Amber laying around…

So is there anything smarter to be done here? Or is that the only “efficient” way?

One can source it at Skeleton Value when selling to the Zailor. It’s not that bad, really.

Not really. Getting to an attractive amount of limbs requires an unattractive amount of resources. Especially considering the added requirements (no Amalgamy and Menace allowed, no Zoological Mania possible). 6 legs (1 Exhaustion) might have been attractive, if it wasn’t for the other requirements. I have not done proper calculations, though. It’s just my gut estimate.
