An abundance of Certifiable Scraps

I played for some time, went on haitus, returned, and during my time playing (both then and now) have managed to accumulate nearly 8000 Certifiable Scraps.

At this point, I’m not sure whether there’s something expensive I should aim for (many of them had no functional use, last I checked), or whether to cash in my chips and instead seek out whatever’s going to be most efficient in an EPA / EchoesPerScrap / etc capacity.

Not expecting anyone to do number-crunching for me (I should be able to put in the effort to research this stuff myself, after all.)
But, in the search for inspiration with this not-actually-a-problem, what do you folks tend to put your Certifiable Scraps towards? :-)

I’D turn them into the relickers for the top tier tresasures for 3200 a piece. They don’t “do” anything, but given that there is no other way to obtain them (other than possibly selling the location of the cave of Nadir for one of them) they’re bragging right unto themselves like goats or cider. Getting all 4 is also a requirement for one option (there are easier) to get London’s Marrow, one of 4 traits needed for Paramount Presence.

You could also sell them for 1560 echoes each if you’re a crazy person.

In terms of echos per scrap, the 3200 ones are in fact the most economical.

If you’re a loreaholic, the various 3200 turnins do tend to drop some tasty hints about things. Most of which is common knowledge now but still.

Personally I’m a collector so I plan to slowly get one of each.

Having all four of the 3200 scrap items from the relickers unlocks one of the options in one of the four “London’s Organs” parts of becoming a Paramount Presence. So they’re not entirely useless, plus you can sell them afterwards if you want.

Now me, I intend to spend all of my scraps on acquiring reported locations of one-time princes of hell. Gotta catch 'em all, you know.

I was not aware of the London’s Marrow detail, so it seems my decision has been made. Thankyou, all! :-D

On that note, if you need someone to help ease a certain Menace feel free to let me know. :-p

I have, in the past, accumulated Nightmares (for reasons which are my own) - and I’m nearing the point where I’ll be able to start doing that again, for a time… ^_^

But crazy? Not one bit! - even if my Lodgings suggest otherwise.

Seeing as my character is already a Paramount Presence, the London’s Marrow option isn’t something I can go for. I’m left at a bit of a loss myself as to what to do with my scraps. I think I might just keep accumulating them for the sake of it.

Edited for typo.

Hey, that answered my own question about whether I should go for the highest-tier items, now that I have the Cider. I shall camp in Flit, and hunt urchins shouting “you owe me!” till they start throwing 25 scraps at my head to get rid of me. Splendid!

It’s probably common knowledge but don’t forget that if you’re planning to hold onto the items for collection’s sake and are also planning to Seek the Name in future, you won’t be able to do both (without bypassing Winking Isle, anyway).

Ι never ever plan to seek the Name. No. Nope. No no no no no.

On the topic of London’s Marrow, I can see from the Wiki that the options are ‘Money’, ‘Treasures’ and ‘Recognition’.

I use Criminals Favours as part of my diamond farming, so Renown is not an option. I could easily achieve ‘Money’ by selling off Nevercold Brass - but does the decision you make on London’s Marrow (and the other equivalent cards) make a difference?
I feel like my character would have more interest in the unusual Treasures, especially as a Glassman, than just wanting to hoard wealth. But the difference in the required number of actions to select that option makes it look… less than appealing.

Knowing that Fate-locked storylets (including City Vices: What Profit?, which I drew today) don’t appear on the Wiki, does anyone know if the choice of the &quotLondon’s <body-stuff>&quot actions makes a difference - aside from its flavour text?

Just flavor text, afaik. They’re just multiple paths to the same thing, sort of how you had multiple options to get the Person of Some Importance requirements back in the day.
