Having secured a small vial from an unfortunate fellow in the Prickfinger Wastes, I find myself ready to imbibe the contents and …possibly, face my quarry the Vake. I would wish to make sure my attempt is as well prepared as possible. Would any one care to offer well intentioned advice on any supplies or levels of expertise that it would be wise to have prior to said show down?

You need no supplies. Higher Dangerous may make the attempt faster, but is not necessary. You should probably make sure your Wounds are low, and may want to raise Hearing Things… further. You’ll also lose access to getting Black Wings Absinthe via the ambition storylet, so if you want more acquire it before proceeding.
Also, you will be offered a chance to use your Half-Wild Mandrake. I strongly suggest that you not do so. It is a unique item and you cannot require another, short of paying Fate to reset the ambition. At +6 Dangerous, it’s also one of the best companions available at your level.
