Something that just now popped into my mind as I casually glanced over my echo count on the left of my screen.
Is the symbol for the echo possibly a correspondence sigil?
I know most of them tend to burn or drive insane, but then I don’t really remember there ever being made a reference to the symbol itself being ever used. Presumably pennies are still pennies and it’s never been stated that the little symbol that might be liberally interpreted as an ‘E’ has any actual presence in-universe (perhaps on 1st city coins?)
So that leads to the question,
is the symbol of the Echo a correspondence sigil?
It does seem to match the thick calligraphic style most of the other symbols have, even though it’s a lot more simplistic in structure than the other correspondence sigils we know and has a straight bar (but that might just be a little alteration to take away its reality-shaping effects, gasp the pieces are falling into place!). Perhaps the correspondence word for "Currency" is commonly used and thus simpler to write?
