Don't execute him just yet.
Once the 24 hours are up and you find out the details of the other match, a storylet unlocks where he throws the lot back down your chimney. Maybe as a apology, maybe to see what a big sack of coins dropping sounds like. IDK.
Regarding the monkey and Virginia:
if you dont defend the monkey, do you get to face against Virginia instead? Or does he win regardless?
Let me confiscate your remaining property. Last time he actually left you with some residue. He is so kind. I will not treat you as kindly as the Manager. You angered me, Topsy King. I will confiscate all your wisdom.

Ah. Turns out you need a top-tier lodgings to proceed. My Heart's Desire character is the only one that doesn't have a top-tier lodgings. Only 239 days until Christmas?

Well, Vake-hunters have something similar. Either Impossible theorem, or 5card hotel suite.
I knew something like this should came. Right after I heard "60 copper rings" first time.

Thank you for this. I wish I had figured this out sooner. I've been there three times now and left confused.

It might be a bit late for you, but I have just finished the Wiki updates for the Honour. You can check them.
Firstly, you don't need to have any knowledge of Poker. You will want to maximize your Watchful and Persuasive though.

Hello, delicious friend. We heard you like to grind for maniac prayers, so we put 500 maniac prayers requirement soon after another 500 maniac prayers requirement, so you can farm prayers after you farmed prayers.

By the way. Cora had ... hinted to us, that our simian friend is
lady ape.
Either there were some curious chapters we missed in "Moral Selection" or someone has really specific heart's desire.

As far as I can tell the choice of lodgings only affects one paragraph of text, with no lingering mechanical effect (except you will save/lose more Sworn Statements depending on your choice).

Indeed, it still confuses me. However,
the Monkey confirmed that (s)he is Beechwood, but not that (s)he is Gregory Beechwood.
What was it again that Cora mentioned about family business?..
I like the writing thus far, but gameplay-wise, it has been one resource gobbler after another. I haven't come across anything that uses the new skills yet - not even Mithridacy.

I was enjoying this until the request for 500 maniac's prayers came up. I fell back on my chair, and left the game for 5 days, even forgetting there is an ES on the way. Grinding is really the worst.

You know, I actually adore the (somewhat ludicrous) resource requirements: the way I see it, we're *so* close to getting our Heart's Desire and *so* obsessed with winning the Marvellous that no cost will seem too expensive (as Cora said in this update "You're in too deep now to back out"), so I think the mechanics are well aligned with the context of the narrative.

Besides, in the final strech of our Ambition, the stakes couldn't be higher and going toe-to-toe with some of the most prominent figures in London is going to be a costly affair (and seeing the vast amounts of wealth that we gathered being put to use makes me feel like a badass and gives a heartwarming feeling at the same time).

So far ambition was very cheap. Part 1 is close to 500 echo. Part 2 is 2-3k, depending on route. It might be slightly more than that if you don't have parabola camp and 5 card lodging. But its nowhere near Knifegate. And timegates are merciful so far.

I remember that Bag a Legend was like that too...until the time to hunt Vakes 1, 2, and 3 appeared. Keep your fingers crossed until the last update is released, as I'm sure the cost will increase exponentially by that point.

I mean, some of us have been waiting for the ends to the ambitions for a long long while. I didn't really see anything that was too excessive. costly? sure. but you should be about endgame point to finish an ambition, i think.

I've been hoarding these resources for years and while it has been sad to watch my inventory get obliterated it was for a good cause.

Knifegate was indeed horrible.

But you get the best source of Parabolan Research thus far. The Esurient Smith's Parabolan-self is slightly better than Hephaesta's, and his physical self is available as soon as the ambition is completed.

Does anyone know, when May the 5th "officially" begins in FL? I've been waiting eagerly for Mr. Pages decision for 6 hours already ^_^
