Whatever has not been confiscated by the Ministry of Public Decency... yet.

(Divided because of one spoiler tag limit.)

1. A seemingly innocent amateur study in chiropteran anatomy, however, known to induce nightmares and strange reactions in certain viewers:

2. Curiously signed with "To my esteemed landlord – both rival and comrade-in-arms – on the occasion of your 4000-th birthday":

3. A weighty bunch of collages:

Everyone’s dearest Deacon.

Memories of forbidden passion.

More roses!

Favourite vacation destination.

The Forgotten Quarter. (Done before the realization that it should be much more Asian than European. Oh those deceptive first impressions...)

That card. Again.

The Sun (blasphemously humanized).

4. There are rumors of a library as well. But most of its texts are in Russian, and the proprietress seems reluctant to translate more than tiny bits, muttering something about the Great Game’s foreign agents and their little secrets. Although everyone knows that she simply is too unconfident and too busy. (Too busy scribbling nonsensical ravings all over the walls of her room at the Royal Beth, to be exact. One shouldn’t look so closely at what Is Not.)

***

[ Jovial Contrarian | Wreck of the Berrenger | Liberation of Night ]

"No, no. I won’t go there. Supporters of the Liberation will shower me in congratulations, and I can’t stand them."

"Supporters or congratulations?"

"Both."

Naturally. "What’s the occasion?"

"I’ve... slayed one of the star-gods."

"...How?" After several meetings at those Veilgarden parties there was less disbelief in her voice than it could have been.

"Convinced them that they don’t exist. Unintentionally, I swear. Just an innocent exercise in rhetoric! Can you imagine how hard it is to find a worthy opponent here in the High Wilderness?"

[ Second City | Mr Candles ]

"I understand you, queen Ankhesenpaaten. I, too, miss the sky."

Ankhesenamun, she corrects in her thoughts. No more sense in the old name, no more hope for the new god.

It isn’t a hunch under his cloak, is it? Seems more like folded... wings?

"But I came to love your city," he adds.

"I wish you not to see another in its place, then."

[ Parabola | Season of Ruins: Tormented Dreams ]

She should have known better than to trust her worst nightmare.

And yet – what does it take to open one’s innermost secrets and sorrows? To walk one’s memories and dreams together? What else if not complete trust?

Not hers. His own.

The same week for Fallen London’s anniversary and my dance studio’s costume party, so... guess who is going there as the Priest King of the First City.

I definitely hear it in a Clay Man’s voice.
Thank you!

Any theories about how it will end? Just curious.

Honestly, after what we’ve got in other Ambitions, I’m ready for literally anything.
I tried to put together what we know, however. And some of my guesses.
(SPOILERS!)
The Topsy King
Desire (known):
To get his sanity back. (Nevertheless, even if he does, I headcanon that he will voluntary choose to stay in the Flit instead of returning to the Court.)
Stake (known):
The rest of his mind.

The Bishop
Desire (unknown):
Most likely still the same as in "The Flint": to become something other than a Snuffer.
Stake (unknown):
I’d bet on his current face and position: it is certainly important to him, but replaceable enough to risk it. And quite in line with the idea of unusual stakes.

Virginia
Desire (known):
To ensure that the betrayed Prince of Hell won’t come after her.
Stake (unknown):
No idea. Her mayoral power won’t last long anyway... Her majestic leopard hat is already gone... However, the devils are full to the brim with enticing offers, aren’t they? I expect something truly extraordinary.

The Manager
Desire (semi-known):
Surely connected with the King with a Hundred Hearts, but in which way? I doubt that he just wants to make the King love him again: it would be anything but love. Forgiveness, too, can’t be forced. So instead it may be some way to free the King. (Especially considering his words about the Liberation of Night.)
Stake (semi-known):
A location. This is all we have as a teaser/spoiler.
My own guess would be the location of the Garden:
1. He may have learned it from his uncle, the Capering Relicker;
2. Some of the players (the Bishop and the Masters) do want it.

Mr. Pages
Desire (known?):
To prevent whatever we were up to (blowing up the Bazaar, intervening in the bargain for the Sixth City, going North). Or... no?
Stake (unknown):
As a Master, he has no shortage of options here. Who knows what else could be hidden in the vaults of the Bazaar?..

The Monkey
Desire (unknown):
My only theory for now is that she has been a player of the Marvellous before and lost her human form – in the same way as the Topsy King lost his mind – and it’s a chance to get it back.
Stake (unknown):
What does a monkey have to offer?.. Judging by her attraction to prisoner’s honey, I can’t help but suspect that she has something Parabolan up her sleeve. (Despite that she doesn’t even have sleeves.)

Honeyaddict, Scarlet Saint, Paramount Presence
pleasure to meet you.

Has some ideas the Masters won't approve of like some items and establishing a Colony in Parabola.

I will accept most social interactions (not duping). I do enjoy role playing as well.
Have some possibly still active codes!

This infernal device insists that the Topsy King has a pet Batman instead of a pet bat... And that the "Wreck of the Berrenger" is an "Accident of the Burger", for Judgements’ sake.

Thanks <3
(As for the first, yes rather than no. As for the second... well, if there’s a suspicion that I may have a weakness for certain characters, don’t believe this preposterous slander. It’s not a weakness, it’s a full-blown infatuation.)

JamesSilver wrote:

"How many fingers am I holding up, Winston?"
"..."
"I see. Mixing absinthe with prisoner’s honey again, aren’t we? Sorry, dear, you won’t be leaving anytime soon. Enjoy your stay."
(Repeat ad infinitum.)

A good question, though. Eight in total? Eight on each hand? Eight on one hand?
(TVTropes suggests it’s twelve, and I wonder where they got that from...)
