Oh, hm! Then if you're not fighting or going on dangerous expeditions (e.g., the wisp-ways or various deserted wrecks), less-than-full crewing is more efficient? Today I have indeed learned. edited by Fretling on 1/1/2015

I run a frigate and try and keep the crew around 16, because then even if I'm full powering around the zee, the most crew I can lose in one explosion is three and I still have speed 2 to get me back to port, it also means that the food level really doesn't go up that fast (I'm a bit OCD on the maths of things, hunger 8 every time gets you seven bites on the hunger bar because the last bite just resets the counter and doesn't count towards the next bar), but I feel that a well planned voyage is the only way around the zee
