I've recently found my pockets to be filled with Nex, and I've found myself wondering whether it would be more worthwhile to prolong my Exceptional Friend status, or start investigating the soul trade--having not yet attained a position of Some Importance, I'm not quite sure which would be more relevant to my interests.

If you've already completed all the storylets in the House of Chimes then I'd deffinately go with the soul trade.
Fair warning that some of my favorite Fate/Nex storylets involving the Foreign Office, Empyrean Redolence, Flute Street and the Velocipede Squad are coming up after stats get into the 100's so depending on your expenditure possibilities you might want to save up for those.
