IN FALLEN LONDON message question

So, I'm fairly new to the game and I've found that I can get these messages that up my stats by a significant amount (a level or three). However, sometimes I get the same message two or three times a day, which has let me jump ten levels really quickly on all of my stats.
Is this typical? Is this recommended? I feel like I may be missing some game play.

It was my understanding that you could do those once each, based on skill. Perhaps I'm wrong. I would recommend slowing down on that, 10 points won't move you out of content but 20 certainly would.
I would recommend sending a report into fallenlondonbugs@failbettergames.com [mod edited email address] . They'll need your account name and your best description of frequency and things along those lines. They'll be able to let you know if what you're seeing is "as planned" or not.
