I missed the previous discussion, but considering that we will see more about dreams this year, maybe Dr. Schlomo to join this game is an interesting option.

Not sure if it's possible considering he was obtainable as a companion during the Feast that just passed.

I wholeheartedly agree with both a Rubbery and a Tiger candidate. Although if both run in the same election, I would be unable to decide whom to support! A Clay candidate is another good option.

Honestly, I want a follow-up to the Jovial Contrarian, where the Calendar Council bumrushes the election in an attempt to inconvenience the powers that be only to find in turn that the Mayor's office is too unwieldy to actually do something. Perhaps like:
A three way between an ambiguous Councilor, like the Manager, someone who may be a candidate that has somewhat moderate and likeable positions that still benefit the Revolution. The other two would be unknown people, one who is very clearly an ardent revolutionary that has unfeasable plans, versus a boring, dry as sandpaper Ministry official who proposes some campaigns to protect the Bazaar and the public welfare.
Said ardent revolutionary turns out to be the ever militant February under a fresh portrait and name, which makes the Official and Manager seem more moderate. Then, said official is revealed to be an agent of October, with all the Parabolan craziness that entails, and turns out to be playing the long game by creating and heading projects that are supposed to protect the Bazaar and soothe public opinion to use for the opposite, and utterly compromising them.
It would also serve as a gauge of public opinion designed to benefit the Revolution; the people either choose February's revolution and make it feasible through massive public support, the Manager's moderate but possible revolution, or having boring authoritarian types choose someone that poses the great threat to the Bazaar and the system.
It would probably be unlikely, as the revelations happening over time could cause a massive swing in votes with all the costliness involved, but it would be entertainingly chaotic.

The Topsy King, the Rubbery Entrepreneur and the Northbound Parliamentarian. Because we all know this whole thing is a farce anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing Schlomo as a candidate, but I think it would be out of character for him to run. He strikes me as more of a sybarite than as someone who wants to manipulate others, let alone as somebody who'd run to make a "difference" of any kind to London.

You're right. I don't know enough about Schlomo. His character will not drive him to participate in such activities. It's really a shame. I'm very interested in the content of the dream. In fact, I have been lacking interest in the mayoral elections in London, and my game character has been sleeping lately. At arbor, I'm earning the cost of a goat, and the upcoming new Heart's Desire content is likely to cost a fortune. Unless one of the candidates' election draft promises to legislate a ban on goat and cider trading in London, I'm unlikely to leave Arbor to oppose him.

I just hope there is no "split the vote" thing again. Like The Temperance Campaigner and the Detective being way too similiar in many ways (both representing the respectable side of London, albeit with different priorities in mind, Vs the more seedy side). A Rubbery Vs a Clay Man would have the exact same effect, I fear.

To make things fair, they'd have to go up against a Rattus Faber candidate.
-- Sir Frederick, the Libertarian Esotericist. Lord Hubris, the Bloody Baron. Juniper Brown, the Ill-Fated Orphan. Esther Ellis-Hall, the Fashionable Fabian.

Since that card IIRC was a kickstarter reward, that would certainly be brilliant for the person whose likeness is used.
Incidentally, I'm with chiche just above. I haven't participated in the elections the last couple of times, and didn't even pick up the new companions last time. Now they potentially have a purpose beyond bragging rights, I do hope the mechanics are interesting and not too aggravating this year. There's enough RL political stress about for me.
