....would it be a bad idea to send a calling card to Mr. Eaten? A foolish question, I know, but the thought crossed my mind many times.

Historically it's been mid to late June.

Has any luck for misfortune come from such an action?

There used to be an old chrome extension that would calculate the total value of your inventory. It broke when the site updated to the new graphics. Does anyone know if there is a fixed version or something similar?
I want to know how woefully far away from cider I am.

If it's anything like the Lengthy Lease to the Bazaar, I imagine there will be a quicker and less expensive way to get your hands on some Cider. Best to explore other avenues for now. edited by Calliope Rannis on 6/1/2019

This is the Chrome extension, updated by Gallmarch for the new site.

There are quicker ways - it has been offered as a reward for charity auctions in the past - but that's not exactly less expensive.

Thank you! I have it reactivated now, but it seems to think my current wealth is zero.
Oh well.

Oh well. Ah, that might be a known bug with Chrome. Here's a fix.

My gosh, it was a success. So if I do a total liquidation sale of all my goods we end up with a total of....
104184.25 echos.
That is a ridiculous sum and I am still 50K short.

My Cider grind was sped up immensely by doing the Silken Tombs expedition repeatedly. And from what I can tell, the new Heist also pays well.

I just went silken tomb today, getting two 62 echo items sure as heck helps with the value gain indeed. If Crimson Petals is the new one, then yes that also pays very well, especially if you have Infernal interests.

I've posted a request for help in the SMEN thread, but in case I can't find enough other players to betray for Arthur's Candle, would I be able to repeatedly buy and betray a Midnight Matriarch, or is that only possible once?
