It's been mentioned enough times, so I'll preface things by saying the Hallowmas companions this year don't count. Yeah it's lame that they look identical to their vanilla counterparts, but set that aside for the purposes of this little informal poll. Apart from them, what do you most want to see get some shiny new artwork?
Personally (listed in descending order of priority) I'd say:
1. The Bifurcated Owl
Considering the amount of time, energy and fate involved in acquiring the bloody thing, you'd think it'd look like more than a discombobulated horned owl. The lore & interactions behind it are great, but dear god is it ugly... and worse, the only companion that gives the same amount of BDR is a frickin' Ubergoat.
2. The Snuffer's Mask
The problem is that it already looks partially melted. Every other mask in game looks better, and yet it's one of the best items in slot outside of profession & fate items.
3. The Weasels (Excepting the Salt Weasel)
Some artwork in FL is baroque and detailed, some artwork is cute & endearing... the weasels are neither. They look like someone took a cute roughly symmetrical drawing of a weasel then pulled on it from opposite corners like silly putty. edited by Isaac Gates on 10/28/2018

I can't say I agree with any of these. Items aren't usually where I have a problem anyway.
The honey-mazed opportunity card guy personally drives me nuts.

I'm not really sure what's so bad about the owl. It might be a little ordinary looking, but it's hardly hideous. Doesn't look a thing like a barn owl either. The weasel pics look fine to me too, and the honey-mazed guy is adorable.
Personally, I would rather keep as much of the old art as possible, warts and all. It's cute, it's whimsical, it looks good in those tiny icons and it shows that the game doesn't take itself TOO seriously, which is one of the things I love about it.

I could stand for the dog pictures to be redrawn.

Meant horned owl, the rest of the assessment stands.

The honey-mazed guy could definitely use improvement, also that white-and-curly-haired lady with the doofy look. I think that portrait was used for the Dauntless Temperance campaigner before her gorgeous election portrait. And speaking of mayors, why doesn't Feducci use his new portait for old storylets? That one's also great.

The owl isn't that bad. I actually love how unassuming it looks, when you actually get close to it, it greatly elicits the "DEAR GOD WHY."
I think I would prefer them give new art too our newer Hallowmas companions. Y'know, like the 1894 companions. And yes, updating certain storylets with characters that have received new art since would be nice, though I'd be a lil' bummed if they replaced the Contrarian's portrait in polite party and the Affluent Photographer storyline since I much prefer the old one, generic it may (supposedly) be.
