Does anyone have a link to the interview with the certificate? I picked it but missed out on it due to lag. DX

I'd be quite happy if gaining a companion increased a quality like "your hallowmas menagerie", and that quality increased the final reward (except the menagerie option). That would make it feel a lot less all or nothing, while not needing all of the combinations of companions. Unfortunately that wouldn't stack with letting us get multiple of each companion. (Unless you count multiple of the same companion as deserving of multiple interviews, but that seems a bit silly.) There's probably some inelegant way around it.

There's probably some inelegant way around it. In this case they can keep the design of choosing a single interview, but the reward would scale with the value of your "Menagerie" quality, so it would take into account how many companions you've upgraded in total, even if some are multiples of the same one.

Or just let you do them one interview at a time instead of in a group.

an interview that just requires some number of the companions would be difficult to program It's technically possible to implement with some combination of QVDs and derived qualities (see Jenny's school for example of dynamic text made this way), but it would be very time-consuming and would likely necessitate a 1-off limit on all upgraded companions.

Are there a lot of people who carefully ground to be just shy of POSI eligibility for the festival, without stepping across that line? But, speaking more broadly... well, yes, a very low level player won't be able to take advantage of everything the game has to offer. That is a rather traditional and commonplace arrangement for games - the more you have advanced, the more options are available to you, and the more likely you are to achieve success. I think totally new players were fine - they have many story options to choose from, and Hallowmas adds to them and gives awesome free stuff to boot. Completely new players couldn't have afforded most unupgraded companions, but they could get the lance and upgrade the one they got for free, or even a cat if they lucked out to rescue her from a box. Nah, the problem is players who have exhausted easily accessible content, currently going through various POSI grinds and struggling to reach Nota 8, were in the same boat.
(It seems like experienced players are overestimating the difficulty of becoming POSI as it is right now. It took me 6 weeks without trying, I didn't even bother switching equipment sets.) I'm new to POSI and this was my case, I read over the maths done in the forums for what one could get and decided to just enjoy my free confessions trading them for the lance, as it gave me +2 dreaded (plus a nice +20 to dangerous). If I traded well, I might have been able to get one upgraded companion, but none of them seemed too attractive to me. It was impossible to grind notability for me as I had 4 RDB in the beginning of hallowmas, 8 in the middle and 10 now thanks to the lance (and I suspect most good grinds aren't within my reach yet). I managed to go through the struggle to get notability to 2 now, but anything beyond was probably within my reach, so I didn't bother and decided to enjoy what there was to offer.

So, funny story. I shot for attaining all the companions this year, and after grinding Notability for 2 weeks while trying to maximize every action and card I could, I thought I garnered enough confessions to have all the companion upgrades and the lance. Well, turns out that I was missing the Meticulous Henchman when Huffam came around. This nearly gave me a heart attack, and I searched for any reason why I lacked him, because I clearly remembered trading confessions for him. Fast forward to today, and after checking one of my alts, it turns out that his only companion was the Meticulous Henchman. I'm not speaking for certain, but I think I may have logged out at one point and converted it without realizing I wasn't using my main because grinding alongside rl had fried my brain into going through the motions. So, yeah. Hourly check-ins, missing sleep, a fistful of Fate, and 2 weeks of doing nearly nothing but the same tedious task over and over, all for nothing. God, I think I'm going to be sick.

*hugs* I'd give you MY meticulous henchman if I could. He'd probably like it better at your character's place anyway. Fleshy's house is a sty :P

Hello delicious friends - please be sure your dealings with Mr. Huffam are carried out ahead of the 13th November! Most likely everything will wrap up around midday London (GMT) time, but we advise finishing up well before then.

So, while to me getting all the companions is a worthy goal in it's own, can I take a second to grouse about 2 Notability points being part of the top reward from Huffam? I spent the last 2 weeks using practically all of my built-up salon, 3k tales of terror, and nearly 1k extraordinary implications, plus a whole bunch of expeditions in order to grind notability up for confessions. At this point, 2 points back is only worthwhile if I can get back to 13 by Monday.
Also, I apologize if someone's already complained about this earlier in the thread.
EDIT: All that said, I really enjoyed this Hallowmas! I didn't mind the notability grind anyways, and thought there was a good balance between newer players having access to a few things, and stretch goals for end-game players. edited by Loiathal on 11/10/2017

Someone with better knowledge of it, because I dumbly missed it, please correct me if I'm wrong!
