Heyo guys;

I'm returning to the game after a long hiatus, about two years or so. I'm exploring Flint now and having great fun! I was just looking to talk to some people, I guess, and make some friends again. Maybe even get married; right before I left, I was aiming to have a huge wedding but alas, my partner is gone as well.

All shall be well,

Marcus

Hello, Marcus! I took quite a hiatus myself awhile ago -- a year, I think? Got back into it not long before Christmas of last year, and I'm only now diving back into the forums and getting more sociable. Hope it treats you well!

is it weird that your username sounds familiar to me? probably not. I've been playing for over two years now.

also, it's a really cool name, so it's easy to remember.

I used to be part of the RP community but there were some issues!

Anyways, any recommendations on what to do?

That depends; where were you in the stories when you left?

Heh, I don't actually recall anymore! I'm kind of just derping around now, decided to go on a Fate-locked Expedition for nostalgia's sake. I was originally aiming for an Ubergoat, I believe.

If you have fate to spend, I recommend buying the Empress' Shadow and theough it permanently unlocking Sinning Jenny's Finishing School. One thing you missed a few months back was London's first mayoral election. Sinning Jenny is our mayor now, she has a school, and you can become a teacher there.

The school is useful for refilling your deck and grinding favors, which is handy if you want to raise renown, a new quality that is replacing the faction connection stats. High enough renown will allow you to collect a few unique gifts.

Empress Shadow has some extra options unlock if you've played The Gift, Lost In Reflections, or The Frequently Deceased. Nothing mandatory, but I appreciated the extra things, and all three of those stories are good in their own right. Lost In Reflections in particular might be the most popular story overall out of any fate locked content.

And just to clarify, you can get favors all over London, not just the school, but they're mostly based on card draws.

To expand further, the card for each faction contains an option to gain a favor, and if you have a connected pet, that pet's card will give you the option as well. What other options exist outside these two varies by faction.

You can get renown up to 5 at Mrs. Plenty's. Past that you need favors (3 starting out, more as you go up) and the requisite item for the faction, which can be found at the Bazaar. Using the items will consume all your favors, so be aware of that, but it will also give you more renown the more favors it uses. At certain points, as has already been mentioned, your renown will unlock unique items. There are three per faction.

Besides raising renown, favors are most commonly used in up-converting items (the same places where you would have had to use connections to up-convert items). If you're doing a lot of that, you might want to save some favors. On the other hand, you can bypass part of that by converting in bulk. Other opportunities exist, varying by faction.
