Obviously, kudos if you've painted it yourself. Thankfully, there are other means for the less talented.
This one was made with Rinmaru Games' Haunted Portrait Creator. Quick, it's burning already - there must be a Correspondence Sigil beneath it!

...and yes, her eyes are irrigo-colored.
While the above picture portraits Phryne's end-game Midnighter self, this would be from her humble beginnings as a Watcher in Spite, always with one foot in New Newgate:

The nose is obviously a fake - the scar, not so sure... edit: I only just realized it looks like she's about to eat that candle!

The Scorched Sailor at the Helm, oil on canvas, 1894
The few that have heard his name, likely in connection to some monstrous or far-flung anecdote, doubt he exists. Most people live in happy ignorance of him and his improbable appearance. Commissioned by persons unknown - the Sailor is notoriously lairy of depictions of himself, including mirrors - the painting shows the Sailor in Sunday best and has latterly been living on the east-facing wall of an unassuming Wolfstack shack, canvas turned to face the plaster. Instead of an artist's signature, there is a small burn mark.

Artwork by the excellent gronostaj, to whom I'm extremely grateful! edited by Barse on 1/2/2018

Correction: the creators for BEAUTIFUL girls are easier to find.
Only a very caritable character (or one in a particularly blind form of love with her) would describe Professor Strix as beautiful. She is... not hideously ugly, sure, but she is simply not attractive. If she cuts her hair and hides her breasts, she can easily be taken for a man.
Something like this:

It's at least funny that the closer I can get to her in the dollmaker is this:

Beautiful? Yes. True to her appearance? Not quite.

Delicious friends,
I made a small mistake in my OP: the Haunted Portrait Creator wasn't "made by" Doll Divine, it is but hosted on their site, too.
The creator was made by Rinmaru Games; and if you use it on their own site, you'll notice that the Save button works there!

Everyone else is drawing their character, so I figured it's about time I finalized my alt's design.
Known only as "The Henchman," they are an exceptionally silent individual, with a missing right eye. They don't like it when you point that out, however. That's just plain rude, okay?
V. finds their fashion sense appalling, and insists on giving them make-overs, to the utter humiliation of the receiver...

No one knows exactly how they came under V.'s employment. All that is certain is that Henchie is often sent on V.'s behalf to pound some troublesome people into silence. V. sucks at dueling. She was persuaded by a friend to try it out once. The outcome was not pleasant. By sheer luck, she managed to survive a fall by using manure as a cushion.

(Dapper chap on the left is Fluby. He's a RL friend, but unfortunately does not frequent the forums much). (And yes. V. is v short. -shot-)

This one is Evensong. She's Dirae Erinye's wife. (An NPC spouse named Devout Intriguer you can find in the Foreign Office. She already has a picture in game, but since she's appeared in a few rps around here, I figured she needed a picture. I tried to keep her close to the image of the Devout Intriguer, but decided to add a few changes.to make her different from all the other Devout Intriguers. Dirae Erinyes is encouraging her to dress her wardrobe a bit. Pictured with her beloved Infernal Sharp Shooter. Made with the Mega Steampunk doll maker)
Dirae Erinyes, a dangerous correspondent. This is their going out outfit. (It was too lonely to put Evensong up by just herself. So, after quite a bit of searching, I found something that had both covered the face and had outfits that were some what close to the Neathy aesthetic. Thus, it's not the best picture of them. For one, they need a bigger frame, look less female, and have an uglier face. But, I did get to put in their multi-tone skin, their black skyglass knife, their questionable fashion taste, and the lightening that gave them life. Made with the X-girls doll maker.)

Nice dollmaker! I had a lot of fun messing around with it.
V.'s formal evening wear:

(V., you don't just bring suspicious, glowing thing-ies to formal parties. I don't care how well it complements your skin tone. Take that away before you hurt someone).
V.'s casual wear, usually employed when doing research or studies. She's holding a Correspondence Stone.

(Still vain enough to curl your hair, you peacock).
EDIT: Hey there, Henchie. Where did you get that glowing thing? Don't tell me V. persuaded you to beat the snot out of poor folks while electrocuting them. Of course she wouldn't. And of course you wouldn't listen to every little whim of her's. Right? Right?!

Thought some of you might like these two dollmakers, meant for the making of Pretty Pixies and Epic Angels. Which means you can add wings and innumerable other trinkets to your character - if you're into that sort of thing, of course.
Here's Sybil, made using the two tools:

Here is a lady who people call not by name, but simply "Mother of pigeons".
The first portrait was drawn when she still hanged out at Veilgarden as a minor poet. The portrait is a gift from one of her fellow street painters. Sadly, it was damaged a couple of times while it was carried to her house near the Observatory, and now the colors are also murky (thanks to airs of Fallen London); but she loves it anyway. Also, yes, those cheap clothes.

Here you can see her after finishing her first large-scale book - a gothic novel for the Empress which made her quite popular. This painting is kept in her new handsome townhouse.

Semi-Realistic Avatar Creator is nice because it has a wider range of facial features than other doll makers tend to. Greetings Fallen Londoners !
Started the game yesterday as a prequel to my Sunless Sea curent playthrough and Fallen London is definitely growing on me just as SS did (and still does !) last month when I (at last) descovered this amazing universe. And since FL is kinda multiplayer here I am to introduce Lady Masquerade to the Spite shadows, to you all delicious friends and foes, and to me since I have yet to know her better as well...

Just like me, english seems not to be her native language so she might sound weird sometimes...

Goomy, that is some AMAZING art. Mr Goo is the best Master. Governs trade in, uh, slime and goop, I suppose? Snails, maybe? And, Narcomanic, I can't get enough of that second piece! The colors, the shading... I've honestly been staring at it for quite a while, now. That style of shading is just SO GOOD.
....you guys are making me want to finish up my character sheet for Florence :P

I might go back and redo him, though I'm probably going to try out the other creator linked first to see whether that one is more cooperative for me.
Edit: Nevermind, the other one was less to my liking than the Dandy maker. Instead here is a overly feminine Delmar so you can see his proper hair and eye colors, as well as some other details.

Okay so let me tell you a bit of a story. I created some fun dolls of Sir Fred, Esther and Juniper using the tools on this site, but couldn't find one that let me create a decent Hubris. Then I remembered, hey, there used to be a fun doll-maker that used assets from Gaia Online - I know I had some Hubrises I made using that saved somewhere. But, I couldn't find them - they must be on some old hard drive in a cupboard somewhere. No worries, I thought, I'll just make them again - nope, the site is down following some sort of nasty legal dispute. Okay, I thought, maybe someone else has made an alternative. Yes! Gaia Online has made a tool of its own... but it has such persistent technical issues that I've never had it work once.

I had so much fun with Haunted Portrait that I decided to do a portrait of my alt as well. The envelope she is holding is the Letter from the Empress that she received on the occasion of her marriage to Rykar Malkus (the letter was on gant-colored paper, so I presume the envelope was gant as well). EDIT: The artist was confused! Gant is not the Neathy shade of red, as she had supposed. edited by cathyr19355 on 6/16/2016 edited by cathyr19355 on 10/13/2016

Ezekiel, before the trial and after the trial. It likes to wear the noose around it's neck sometimes because it was so heavy on the day of it's execution that it broke the first one when it started thrashing. Also, you cannot strangle a fungus, it don't use the human lungs.

I love doll makers, not to mention it finally made me pin down what my characters actually look like. I had made them in the Sims 4, but they're just a smidge too cartoonish there.
Here's what Glass Doll looks like under her hood:

Thank you! Your use of colors is lovely. For some reason this makes me imagine your character on the Surface, enjoying an outdoor drink in France.

I find I like to focus on the things that work for me with these doll-makers. I pretty often have to overlook the body in female dolls -- they're all too busty for my Abs. Instead I try to focus on what I do like. For this dollmaker, for my Abs, I didn't like the results I was getting enough to post them.
