I'd always been confused about the Forgotten Quarter thing. What triggers the event? Clicking on an action in the Quarter, or even going to the forgotten quarter on the map without trying to use an action?

From what I remember, we HAD to stain our soul in order to progress. Being soulless will stop you from progressing the story, except if Alexis thought about it and made some changes. Oh. I might have misunderstood, then. What sets the hunt of devils on you?
When you stain your soul, you also lose it. You go on a little story to get it back, but if you go to the Forgotten Quarter while searching for your stained soul...you're gonna have a bad time.
*edit* if you found some way to lose your fully stained soul after you got all 7 stains, this would still occur, though it is highly improbable for you to lose a stained soul. Not quite. Staining your soul sets you on the otherwise Fate-locked searching for your soul story, and you have to complete it to get your soul back for the next staining. According to the running theory, going into the Forgotten Quarter with Your Own Infernal Contract, the Searching for your Soul quality, and a stained soul is fine. The Grand Hunt triggers if you enter the Quarter while soulless but without the Searching for your Soul quality. As a stain prevents you from selling your soul through most means, the only way to sell a stained soul is through the Hallowmas Fate option - hence the Grand Hunt event on failure removes the four items you could gain through the sale.

Wait, what? When does THIS happens? Oh. This seeking thing gonna hurt... Don't think I and many others who never seeked truly understand this Optional- at least the first time- if i recall correctly from my research, and if it doesn't change. When you try to aquire the second candle you will have a choice between abandoning fame and fortune and letting the wind set your table. One zeroed all connections, one took all lodgings. New Option on Slowcakes. Gain St Destin's Candle, requires 12 Notability and SMEN 35. http://imgur.com/YBejJ4j

There was only 8 levels of SMEN, but I guess they're spreading steps out more this time.

Before all the new seekers panic too much, Alexis did mention toning done some of the viciousness of earlier Mr. Eaten Storylines. Granted, now I've probably caused some of the veterans to panic on what those changes may be. . . .

All this Mr Eaten stuff makes me wonder when Knife and Candle is coming back, and if SMEN will have any ties with it like it used to.

St Cerise's was gained through getting 77 Silver Prize Tokens, trading them for a Waxwail, then trading that for 77 Iron Knife Tokens, and finally trading that for the candle.

I imagine its something to do with Getting The Name Tattooed on You being one of the last presumed steps of seeking, which would require the Feast of the Exceptional Rose to be going on.
