I only started to play the game today, and when I try to use travel, it just doesn't do anything... it's very problematic since I am now stuck in an area where there is nothing I can do with the stats I have, and can't go anywhere to practice them. here is what I did: I pressed the travel botton, which opened a map. then, I pressed my lodging (and, later, every other place on the map), which made like a selection square to appear around the place, but then nothing changed. i tryed to refresh the page and\or try again, but it just stays in the same page. please help.

That's jolly unfortunate! First thing to do is to send a bug report to support@failbettergames.com, with as much detail as possible, including your user name and your browser details.

Are you perhaps playing on a touchscreen mobile device, i.e. an iPad or smartphone?
If so, you may need to press a second time immediately after the selection box for the location appears. This happens a lot in Mobile Safari, to my knowledge (and a similar thing happens with discarding cards), because of quirks in the mouse-over handling. edited by Jeremy Avalon on 9/9/2015

You may have already tried this, but forcing a cache refresh may help, since this is javascript functionality. On most browsers, it's Ctrl-F5.

What should normally happen is that when you click Travel the storylets part of the window should lower, making way for the London map. From there, you click on your destination. If you've only begun playing, you may not have many places opened up just yet - though if that part is not happening at all and you are in London proper rather than still in a Storylet, it certainly sounds like a glitch.

I wrote a whole explenation and accidently erased it, so I'll do another briffer one: for me, F5 alone refreshes the page. It does that, but not change my location. on my phone, I can travel normaly, but not on the computer. if I change place via phone and then refresh on the computer it does send me to where I tried to go, but that's not a suitable solution.

Have you tried using a different browser? It sounds like a browser-specific problem.
There is a workaround where you can use a standard web link to travel to a location (that you can access) but I'm loath to post it unless it turns out that FB can't / doesn't have time to resolve this bug.

I tried on google chrome and internet explorer. I don't think I have any other browsers. also, I only use chrome, and keeping another browser running just for the game would be inconvenient.
That's not the same. F5 is like going to address bar and pressing enter. It will ask the server for some things, but will fetch as much as it can from local cache. Ctrl-F5 should avoid caches.. Interesting! ; there's another problem I'v been having- if I go to the adress bar and press enter, then hover above an item, it will not show the information, but if I hit F5, it will, so it's weird to hear they are the same. (I didn't mention that little bug because as I explained, it's easily solvable.) I did try Ctrl F5 when it was suggested. it looked like a normal F5 and did nothing differently.
EDIT: oh wow! I can travel now! (for some reason...) could they have solved the bug for me and not tell me? I hope it stays that way. either way, thank you all very much. I'm happy to see that people in this comunity are so friendly and helpful! edited by muli on 9/10/2015

It could be your computer loaded it wrong. my internet does that at times. usually, refreshing the page works, but if the connection is unstable, it can consistently go wrong. that said, good luck! may your bones be uneaten by bats, and your core not drowned in lacre!
