I've found an option that has missing text.

As an Extraordinary Mind, when I go to spend time with my protegé, I select them from the list and send the invitation. The feedback text after doing that is blank (but I can still Try This Again or Onwards as normal).

Everything Flyte says is still accurate - but there is a glimmer of light. It's possible that we may have some external funding available to us specifically for an FL mobile version.

That would be amazing if it happens. Since I first started playing I wished there was a version I could play on my iPad. There's a sense of.. intimacy? immediacy? ... when playing games on a tablet/phone which I think would work with Fallen London so well, and the layout and gameplay feels like it would lend itself well to a touchscreen.

Will there be a special deal on the Nex cost for turns coming any day soon or will you just be spoiling us with new content?

Perhaps a lower rate would incite more players to buy turns. I definitely would! If enough people do, It could benefit your bottom-line and it's a win-win, right? I'm already an exceptional friend and that's a good deal.

It's annoying how I keep losing duels or heists that have 70+ chances of success (My alt lost a duel with Feducci with 80% chance 3 times in a row). Maybe instead of a one-off action, a duel should bring us to a special location (Duelling!, or bring us to On a Heist when robbing the Bazaar or something) where we can spend the Casing or Running Battle... And I feel expeditions are not deep enough. I'd like to be interrupted by the Hunt of Devils, get lost, have my assistants murdered by insane clay men or something. Maybe that should also bring us to a new location? That would be awesome. Sorry if this is not the place to put suggestions, but I saw nowhere else.

The one problem with taking someone to a new location is the extra actions to complete the actions. This would require a rebalancing of the rewards or everything using the new system would be largely ignored after 1 or 2 runs.

I dislike being taken to new areas because it resets the Action timer, which means that I have to take care to do so right after getting a new Action, otherwise I'll miss out on a few minutes. Not a big deal when it's just every now and then, but I don't really want to see more of it.

Also, it can be annoying if you need to draw opp cards to do anything. That means you have to plan it more.

I don't think that's a good idea with the current Expeditions, but it could be a neat mechanic if a new unrepeatable one gets added.

Maybe they could set temporary infinite energy and opp cards while in those zones? That seems like a good idea to me, but I'm still a noob, so probably not. I just wanted less 80% fails smile

It would be easy enough just to set all (or some) branches in these special zones to have zero action cost.

I accidentally discarded the Card that allowed you to start over your 'Benefactor' story and swap out the 'unique item' you get with it. It was also the 2nd time it had appeared.
Am I skrewed or can it come back again??? Cause I really wanted to switch out....

Don't worry it will come back, and you can change as many times as you like as long as you have the Fate.

I do not know if this has been posted, but I will post this anyway since while it came from 2 others i think it good feedback too:

Something I've been wondering about for a while now, if you buy a fate-locked option from an Opportunity Card (example: Plaster Saint from the Opportunity Card An Afternoon of Good Deeds), is that option unlocked on subsequent drawings of the card? Obviously if you buy a route with fate, the option to buy it again is gone, but that's clearly a special case. Or must you cough up the fate each time you wish to pursue that option?

I think he's on to something here. I'd be much more open to buying such options if they where permantly unlocked. You guys should totally do that.

Personally, I find that my fate runs out extremely quickly and when I do not know what I am getting for it due to the fate locked content blackout, it can worry me that I am not making a good purchase of this fate. Considering how many fate locked options there are, I do not think this would be a unreasonable request since most better option can cost between 7 to 30 fate to play. The only issue I see is with the Box Of 100 Fate Opportunity, which would of course need to work in the current way. I know I would be much more willing to part with fate locked content if I knew the options were kept or that I could repeat them, and the option to get rid of all Wounds of whatever when I buy some Laundium or Tincure would be much appreciated since paying for it each time makes me, well, NOT want to pay for that option.

I would appreciate it if I were contacted about this.

I don't want to speak for FB, but I think you might have the wrong end of the stick as far as Fate is concerned. The game is not designed in order to get people to spend Fate. If you feel you don't want to pay, then no problem - don't. There are plenty of other mechanics available for Menace reductions - they just take a bit longer, or require you to use social actions.
Introducing a mechanic of the kind you describe would put many players in the position of feeling that they had to spend the Fate or else be suffering a significant disadvantage. And that in turn would put a lot of people off from playing what is meant to be a free-to-play game.

I can see the possible issue here, which is why I will say I don't think it a simple do this or not option and reckon it would be best for a compromise that keeps the free to play ideals of this game while also offering the suggestion. Also, I'd like to add the menace thing was only a example, and possibly a bad one at that. Maybe something like The Temple of Uttermost Wind would be a better example: I would have to pay 7 fate each time I wish to play that event and that can be annoying as is what with the expedition costs and chance of failure too, and it's possible however unlikly someone may take the expedition without enough tools and effectively waste 7 nex.

I have spent Nex and fate on this game, and will be happy to continue to do so since the game is a good qaulity and enjoyable, but my point as it were is that I feel with things like menaces costing 3 fate to rid entirely EACH time (not that i have ever done this), storylets costing Nex to repeat, actionrefills and deck refills for nex (Though I see them as needed) a ton of other smaller options like paying nex in the House of Chimes to go Shroom Hopping, and most importantly not knowing what I will get aside from a short description offering something good or saying I need 30 supplies, It feels like my Nex goes too quickly and sometimes to things I may not even want till it's too late, or it is wasted on something i cannot yet do for some reason. Granted, I do not buy MUCH Nex, only about £5's worth when I top up my phone, but it's still £5 of phone credit that can go towards important calls instead.

I think the point is that spending Nex is absolutely not essential to enjoyment of the game. You might feel that you don't get good value for your Nex when you do spend it, but I would disagree. Action refreshes and deck refills are only needed if you're impatient. Again, the creators don't want people to blow through all the content quickly. That's what the Action system is for in the first place - to slow things down. Menaces have other ways around them as already mentioned. Changing story choices is something I think it's perfectly justifiable to charge a premium for in a game where choices are meant to have consequences.

Expeditions are an even better example of it being fair to charge Fate every time, since they are insanely profitable. If you only had to pay once, every player would feel that they had to do so or face losing out substantially. One could also argue that the only reason to repeat an Expedition is to gain the reward (as opposed to exploring more parts of the story). Why should you be able to repeat that for free?

A separate point you make is not knowing in advance what you're spending it on, which is true - but I think it's obvious why that's the case. In any case, you can always get pointers (though not full spoilers) on the forum - there are many threads discussing whether particular Fate content is worth paying for. This thread is a good place to start: http://community.failbettergames.com/topic87-fatelocked-content.aspx

I spend Nex on the game too, but I try to be judicious about when I do it. People will always have strong views where their money is involved, and I do think it's good to explore the subject, but my personal opinion is that Fate locked stuff is pretty much all fair and well-balanced.

    I would not necessarily go so far as to call it unfair, and I can see your point. However I think it could possibly be done in a better way. What said better way would be however I have no idea. if you have a idea on the subject I'd love to hear it because I sure don't. I'm sure there is a reasonable compromise or different idea between the two ideals. (;

While wondering the wiki, reading some mahogany hall content at random and getting THE SONG stuck in my head, I had a thought.

Then I tried to get the song out of my head... it quickly mutated into a more virulent and mind rending version.

So the idea reformed under those influences. If I seem to be less sane then normal, blame the song.

What if your character was just a little genre-savey. Maybe not all the time, and certainly never at low levels, but just a touch.

They come to the realization that ANYTHING can be an asset, even menaces. So they indulge, massively, PUBLICALLY, and scandalously in a bout of singing the song, as often as possible, encouraging others to love it, and sing it.

But being the black sheep, society turns, closes ranks, and the song stops being played... or that's the goal. They won't even TALK about the song. You having connected yourself to it so strongly, also won't get talked about.

Loss of "song" and loss of "scandal", if you are successful.

Failure state is a large enough boost in scandal to throw you into exile.
Or possibly Fail2 (like the ones where you can have 2 different successes, in writing) has the song max out (and or drive you mad).

Now, lets tie this into the changes to quirks, shall we? Make this combination only possible when you are hedonistic enough to embrace it.

I do admit I don't readilly have 2 meanace pairings for anything else... except perhaps Iriago, and that shouldn't get easier.

Hello, um I can't find a topic about bug reporting so I'll leave the bug I found here. The bug is that if you have dangerous over 70 and try to go the abyssal depths then you can't leave and can only use opportunity cards. Storylets don't show up at all and even when you gain nightmares 8, you can't leave from the abyssal depths. Please I need you to fix this bug or other players are going to get stuck and complain.
