Look out your rod and reel: the Fruits of the Zee Festival is upon us! The festival begins today, 20th August, and will end on the 3rd of September. As summer winds down, enjoy calming fishing trips and indulge in a cornucopian repast of delights plucked fresh from the bounteous Zee.

Hire a fishing boat, land a Strange Catch and trade it at the festival for special rewards! Things you may also experience include: the famous wishing well, maypole dancing, Drownie serenades, and beer.

Secure an invitation to a secret feast and catch a glimpse of your Destiny. Will it be a vision of victory or a dream of darkness?

You may even see a few familiar faces from the recent election...

Catch a ferry from Wolfstack Docks to Mutton Island to join the festivities!

The Fruits of the Zee Festival is open to all players, no matter your level. You don’t need a boat, and if you don't know the way to Wolfstack Docks, there's a helpful urchin at your lodgings who will be happy to ferry you for a reasonable price.

My alt's level 8 Catch was transformed into level 4 Picking Through the Wreckers' Cove and no new items. upset

EDIT: Two bugs:
1) I wasn't redirected to The Wreckers' Cove after offering my catch to the Hooded Lade, but I had to Perhaps not for this to happen
2) Picking Something else... option doesn't do a thing.

Bugs submitted to support as well.

EDIT #2: Fixed and checked that Something else... option works properly! Still no new items! :P

I'm not actually seeing any mayoral characters at the festival. Am I simply too early?

You need to rotate the "Sights of the Festival" value. I got the mayoral option on 47, so I guess it appears in 40-50 range.

Feducci didn't attend last year, although he was the subject of gossip. Jenny's attendance seems to have been specific to her character and mayorship, not a universal attribute of mayors. Feducci was all about Hallowmass instead. Makes me wonder which festival the Contrarian is likely to involve himself in...

Also I would wonder whether passenger ferries of the 1890's were wheelchair-accessible.

EDIT: Apparently they are.

Hubris has seen two election-related options so far, both recorded in his journal.

Sir Frederick, the Libertarian Esotericist. Lord Hubris, the Bloody Baron.
Juniper Brown, the Ill-Fated Orphan. Esther Ellis-Hall, the Fashionable Fabian.

Are there really no new items? Or is this just a bug?

If there are no new items, no new content, and no new mechanics . . . I may as well go back to not playing until the next festival. That's extremely disappointing, as there was nothing new last year either in terms of content. Hmm. Maybe I'm just mistaken, though?

Both last year and this year included new content in the form of meetings with figures associated with the election.

I found two clicks related to the Contrarian.

They were perhaps three paragraphs at the very most.

Unless I'm missing something else, I think "new content" would be generous.

The same goes last year for Feducci.

I somehow drew both the mood cards at the same time, and haven't yet gotten to doing what I wanted to use them for. Will going to Mutton Island empty my hand?

Accepting all non-harmful social interactions. Have several betrayal-ready alts, which I am happy to rent out. Love/need catboxes and esp. Starveling kitties.

Your cards are safe. Even if you switch to a smaller hand lodgings with all slot filled, your cards are safe and will pop back when space becomes available.

Nope.

I'm not sure there are any hand-emptying actions anymore, you always get your hand back from returning from zee, etc.

Welp, if the biyearly schedule was to be believed this was the year to add new items, but looking at the fate section in the cove nothing new is available. Might as well head back to London now that I've experienced literally all the new content that was added (though I do have to say I love the chair).

Spare Starveling Kitties always welcome. I collect them.

No new items from the Contrarian? Just a hint that he Knows Everything now that he has access to the panopticon, and he's idly planning some kind of action against the Ministry of Public Decency?

Ah, the Fruits of the Zee! I have a love-hate relationship with you. Okay, really a love-blah relationship. I enjoy your mechanics, I enjoy your writing, but there's not really any reason for me to spend any time with you. Everything I wanted from you I received on the first day of my first festival. Your cousins Hallowmas and the Rose fascinate and titillate and, well, frustrate me all the way to the finish line, and even He Who Must Dress in Red demands my continued attention to his terrible sack. You? Well, we get together, we share a few lumps for old time's sake, and then it's back to London a half-hour later. I continue my life as if nothing has happened.

I like you. I do. I want to love you. But in a world of talkative cats, homicidal knives, and ridiculous headdresses, there's only so much time one can give to fishing for the same old catch.

Maybe next year, love.

Ignacious, the Licentious Scholar, he will accept most social invitations, including boxed cats and affluent photographers (but only betrayals), though he is absent-minded and might take more time than entirely necessary. He apologizes.

Awww I was hoping there’d be something new to get since there wasn’t anything last year.

Guess I’ll make fleshy make his yearly pilgrimage to carve his and one of his love interest’s initials on one of the apple trees and then head back home.

Maybe next year......

The chair is great! Do the chair storylet as often as you can for Extraordinary implications, and visit the Custodial Chef to turn them into Incunabula. When you get back to London, visit the University and use the Incunabula to make Searing Enigmas. Capital!
