I’m quite surprised there’s never been a thread for this game!
In Locked Code, you’re an archaeologist adventurer exploring a Mayan temple in the Guatemalan rainforest. Room by room, you add to your collection of artifacts, decipher Mayan glyphs and try not to run into any traps. Be careful - death is possible! (though you can cheat it: originally the life-saving option cost you some real money, but it’s now of course free to play like everything on StoryNexus)
Locked Code is the work of game designer Elisha Miller, and - compared to some other StoryNexus games I’ve played - the fact it was built by a professional certainly shows. The game is polished, finished and completely bug-free. The structure is clear, at no point was I lost at how to continue.
I’m not an expert, but I can say with confidence that the knowledge of Mayan history and culture displayed in this game is astonishing - I think even someone very well-versed in the field will be impressed by the accuracy and detail.
A bonus for FL players is that this feels a little like travelling to the Third City - you will recognize many things you’ve seen in the Neath!
I particularly liked the fact that the game did not end immediately after leaving the temple. No, you get to return home, bask in the fame and sell off your prized artifacts! I ended up with a fortune of over 12 Mio EUR, three honorary degrees and the title of "Outstanding Patron of Mayan Art and Culture" ;)
I took about 4 hours for one pretty exhaustive play-through. edited by phryne on 10/10/2016

It’s a great game! One of the best StoryNexus games, in my opinion. You clearly are a more skilled player than I, as I have never succeeded in leaving the temple–I’ve always gotten killed after getting into the deepest levels. :P

When you run out of luck, you’re presented with two options: "Life" and "Death". Life used to be Nex-locked but is now free-to-play as well.
I was twice buried in collapsed tunnels during my game, but each time opted to dig myself out again instead of restarting ;)
